WinXP pro to WinXP x64.. does it make sense?

What are the advantages if any of using Windows XP Professional x64 edition instead of Windows XP pro 32bit edition.. i am using C2D.. will my apps/games and system run more efficiently and faster?.. anybody here using x64 edition??
 
I am using both at a same time (dual boot).

General Work : nothing

Gaming :
Games with 64bit patches (like FarCry, Q4 etc.) -> Better Graphics but negligible FPS drop.

Games without 64bit patches -> nothing​

Stability: XP64 is rock solid.

Problem of XP64: finding a good 'real 64bit' anti-virus.
 
64bit antivirus ... NOD32..

and i too would say that x64 is rock solid...

x64 was built up from win2k3 and not just a 64bit ver of xp... so its very stable...i`ve been using it for a really long time now...

even i have posted before abt my own doubts abt x64
now its been three months i think seriously win x64 is rock stable
u know wat if incase i use a 32 bit linux distro i feel asshaaaamed

yah though findin rite aps mite be cumbersome but u cud find a way round!

this does not hold good if u are using lot of local hardwares like tv tuners..local webcams & various such devices whose drivers for 64bit would be PITA..:rofl:
 
oye yaar i agree printer drivers....are like hell for x64 they jus dont work!(canon bj 2100)
never knew abt tv tuners ....hmmm thanks for tellin me that super_saiyan

but then since i have no use for them i never RnDed into it
 
I switched from xp32 to 64 but switched back as otherwise its good (64) but many programs are not compatible & sometimes the system just hang due to that... so if it aint broken dont fix it thing worked for me
