#[member='stormblast'], did you try streaming 1080p over the 5ghz channel? Did it work without issues ? If I wanted a wired solution, can do that even now - already have a 10 ft Ethernet cable and the Xtreamer has an ethernet port which I think should suffice

#[member='6pack'], the Netgear is cheaper by 1.2k (

) in that link but will forego local warranty. Hmmm.. Decisions.. Decisions!

no i havent tested netgear with 1080p on 5ghz as i dont have a 5ghz usb adaptor.

if your main requirement is just to view hd content then i would recommend to use wired or connect a hdd to it.

I saw this written in the product specifications - this router can also be used as an access point to extend your existing wireless network.

That's just a normal 10/100 150Mbps one. Hence the low price.

Should have seen it

BTW, could not find this router on ebay.com anywhere. weird.

yes, i was searching for reviews of this zuni router on newegg and only 2 people had written reviews for it.

maybe Netgear is the better choice. Zuni is an unknown company. And even if its cheaper by 2-3k than Netgear, better to get the netgear one since its tried and trusted by hundreds of people.

Edit: Its 4.5k via shopabroadonline.

Errr... The WNDR3700 and the WNR3500L are not the same
<

The WNR3500 should be a good single band router though for that price!

#[member='stormblast'], presume you have v1 of the WNDR3700 ? Been looking it up and seems the current version is v3 and I dont see it being promising
<
The v1 apparently was the best!

Looks like I have to fall back to the ASUS N56U. Still looking for options though

If i were you i would get the Asus black diamond or the WNDR4500. I got the Dlink DIR655 as my requirements were less compared to yours.

i initially had the v1. but when the wan port got spoilt i got the v2 as the replacement. i did not find any difference in the two.

i havent read anything about the v3. but i dont think it would be so bad.

how about the newer netgear wndr3800 or 4000 i think

The v3 is apparently different on the hardware front!

The WNDR3800 is not available here. For its price, I'd get the RT-N56U
