Samsung Unveils World's Slimmest Cell Phone-Samsung SGH-X820

Samsung has unveiled what the company claims is the world's slimmest mobile phone.The new phone, the Samsung SGH-X820, was unveiled during Sviaz Expocomm 2006.

The SGH-X820, a 6.9 mm thick cell and weighs only 66 grams but yet packs plenty of multimedia functionality.The SGH-X820 has an MP3 player that is capable of holding up to 80MB of onboard music files. Along with the ability to play music, a 2 megapixel camera that also records video is included. If users are wanting even more features, Bluetooth connectivity and a TV-out jack is included.Underneath its protective outer shell, the X820’s a wealth of features are compressed into the 6.9mm thinness using the Smart Surface Mounting Technology (SSMT).The SGH-X820 will be released later this month in Russia and Europe.
and is expected to be released in China market in June.
According to The Korea Times:
Samsung plans to market the bar-type model, the SGH-X820, in Europe this month at a hefty price, which the firm refused to reveal, as the phone adopts a European technology. Next month, the ultra-thin model will land in China and the outfit is considering whether or not to convert the phone’s current format (GSM) to that of Korea and the United States (CDMA).

Wow Samsung has been known to pack in lots in a very small chip. The mobile that turned the market for Samsung is/was probably True Eye with that awesome screen which even nokia is not able to match. :)

Their too damn thin to get a grip on :P
 
too darn thin, looks like a biscuit, if i had it i'll surely break into two or more pieces by the end of the day and no expandable memory i don't think they have looked into the failure of moto razor.
 
I agree, thin and ugly , ...... I am bored by Samsung..... They shud understand that RAzr was successful not only bcause It was thin but bcause it looked cool and was unique........... sigh: .. It is such a pity bacuse samsung used to be a great company tht promised to unseat nokia as The leader......... now I don't think It will ever happen :(
D600 was so cool:( It is still the best 2mp allrounder out there...
 
looks ok if u ask me... but when will they understand tht giving a 2mp cam and a mp3 player.. we also need memory to store stuff...
