Laptops would installing Vista SP reduces RAM usage by Vista?

well i was about to install Vista SP1 in my laptop, so just wanted to confirm it if installing vista could reduce huge RAM usage by Vista. Actually right now m falling insufficient with my 2 Gb of RAM while gaming in vista. could SP1 help getting it better thn right now?:S
 
dun tell me mate..2gb and the card u hav is sufficient for basic gaming on vista without anyproblems..
i hav a dell vostro with lower cpu and gphx and 1gb ram, and still managed good gaming..
guess u need a clean install and latest drivers from the dell site..

Sp1 makes vista much better..with 2 gb ram and that proc u hav nothing to worry abt...
 
To be frank there is no 'substantial' difference bet sp1 and pre sp1. But obviously sp1 is good is because lots of bugs were fixed and the driver compatibility issues were solved. The RAM usage is very high in Vista compared to XP.
