I'm planning to buy a laptop for 35K max.

Want the best VFM laptop in this price range.

Asked Shakensoul for this config but it overshot my budget:

I live in Navi-Mumbai, there are many adds in newspapers and TV from Vijay sales etc. are they good?.

I don't mind buying laptops from Lammy too.

One more thing where can I get the discount coupons for Dell Laptop India:huh:.

all its really odd that such a low end config is costin u 37.5k.. in my opinion it should not cost more tan 32k befor tax.. so if u take discounts in2 consideration should easily fit in2 ur budget of 35k.

Also choosing laptops from other places is also not such a bad idea.. as of late even dell has started ripping of customers.. instead of reducing prices for the first time (atleast the first time in my experience) iv seen technology products get more expensiv rather than cheaper.! Also in certain cases (one here at te itself bout a 30" lcd) dells service levels have also started being questioned. So it depends ultimately.. i say if u get a good deal get dell.. if ur gettin a better deal on hp/compaq consider them aswel.
 
Hey if u r in Mumbai....check out the Tata Croma Store at Malad for Dell Laptops....that is the only place in India which stocks Dell .....if u pik it frm there u may nt have to pay the octroi which is abt 7-8% .
Im lookin for a similar deal with just an extended budget of 40k. I also enquired with Shakensoul, bt my reqmnts seem to exeed the budget.

and i just read in paper yesterday HCL offering laptop with 2 gb ram and centrino processor at 33k bt it was one of those 1 day offers in Vijay Sales.bt ny users or reviews for HCL....any major hick ups or nythin???

Last I heard, there was an offer in vijay sales that had an HCL lappy for sale with Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Ram and 160 GB Hard disk for 28k!
 
Got a quotation from Dell for the above configuration Rs.38842-/- inclusive of everything.
+ a free 9cell battery upgrade.
I it worth it?

T2330 means dual core.... & not core2duo..

The Best I have come across is Acer Aspire 4720Z with 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Dual Core Processor for around 29,500 to 30,000.

Looking out for a better deal than above one........ :thumb:

A shop very next to IT MALL had a decent collection of laptops and Display Pannels was keeping a Toshiba Satellite laptop for 33800-/-. It looked pretty decent but I dont remember its configuration..:ashamed:. also DELL + HP + ASUSEzeePC + ACER + Compaq.:ohyeah:

I dont remember the name exactly but it was M*******! Infosys < Display board in orange>

Toshiba one was a core2duo

The shop is on the side of Police Station and comes before police station if you approach from Grant Road side. By the way the shop is pretty big and its prices are a bit on the higher side<compared to MCCANN>.

You can get this basic Inspiron 1525 config for exactly 35k :) , any changes to the config will increase the price.
