WTB: Genuine Cashmere/Pashmina shawl and Sweater

Intro:Cashmere wool is fine in texture, and it is also strong, light, and soft. When it is made into garments, they are extremely warm to wear.

Query:
1. I want to know where i can get the good quality shawl and sweater of the same.
2.How can i identify whether it is 100% genuine or not?
3.why many of such kind are imported to India,when they are produced in India?:S
4.what price range is ideal to spend on?
5.Are they available online in India?or in malls in metros like Bangalore/Hyderabad?

Please help me out.
 
If you go for a respectable brand like CK or TH, expect to spend around 8-12k for a cashmere sweater.

With brands like Diesel or other high end brands, I would say 15-30k.

If you want some regular unbranded / el cheapo brand then within 4-5k or so max.

The cheapest options available may cost less than 2k though, 100% cashmere that is. I have no idea about such brands.

I saw a TH cashmere sweater in Select City Walk for Rs.9999.

I doubt you will get a respectable brand below 8-9k offline.

Levis, pepe range brands should cost 3-6k.

And local stuff around 2-4k or so.

Not sure about anything less than TH though.

Me too interested in Pashmina shawls.. Let me know if you find any genuine deal in good rates. Have plans to take 3-4. We can go with bulk deal.
 
There is nothing as bulk when you are talking of malls or online shops.

Bulk means 500 or 1000, not 5 or 10. :P

And honestly speaking, I have no idea about shawls. However, I assume that they should be priced similar to coats which start around 12-14k in India and go as high as 30k even for mid end to high end brands (not talking of ultra high end stuff like gucci or versace).

for low end brands like levis or pepe, coats come for like 5-7k or so.

I assume shawls should come in a similar price segment.
 
1. Either not comparable to TH or fake.

2. Doesn't even look cashmere.

3. Don't buy apparel from ebay india and preferably not from ebay at all. If it has to be Amazon, then just retail counters like Macy's or official stores or Amazon direct after careful inspection.

4. If you are willing to spend around 5-6k, you won't get anything better than TH for the price, IMO.

However, you can look at CK's Ebay store as well if you want.

Ralph Lauren sweaters cashmere cost $200-350 + shipping + customs + etc
 
I had got a Pashmina shawl from Dharamsala for my mom. Not sure how much i paid for it. But it cant be more than 1k. Its very light and thin. Mom is quite happy with it and she says its pretty warm.
 
TH Cashmere sweaters were available but only a few pieces, at least till some time back.

You can also try CK or Guess. But expect stuff around Rs.10-15k mark.
 
I can't be able to afford more thank 6k,found some good ones on ebay global and amazon.

need to decide on which,will also check local availability

If you buy through tommy.com, you will spend around 6-7k or less. It is the best you can get!

The problem with TH is they are not 100% cashmere,60-70% cotton.most of them are cotton blend.

However, 100% cashmere could be difficult within this budget. You may need to spend at least 10-15k+ to get a decent brand with 100% cashmere.

And why do you want it to be pure cashmere?

and nobody really has been satisfied with Williamson's. Check the reviews on Amazon. This shows how they are able to sell it for less than $100 when pure cashmere retails for $200-500 or more.

No point going for crap. Either go for cotton or partial cashmere or increase your budget!
