Finally, I'll be buying my new rig by this month-end. ( Its final now). And best part is, no more loan business. :hap2: So its TE and lamington all the way. :eek:hyeah:

Heres what I'm looking for :-

*A64 3000+ - Bought

*Asus A8N-E - Bought

Twinmos 2x1GB

2x80GB SATA ( raid0)

Samsung 997DF 19" CRT

Altec MX5021

Zalman 5.1 headphones

BenQ 1640

TV Tuner card

VIP ZB01

Antec SP2 450W ( 24 pin, dual rail)

Keyboard, mouse, FDD

If anyone has these parts, or something similar (or better), please post here. I have a budget of max 65K for the above.

( I'd probably buy the monitor locally. Unless I get a very good deal ).

Just so you get a complete idea, I'll be adding following to the above -

Sapphire x800 gto2

160GB PATA

M-Audio Revo 7.1

Modem.

So, everyone, help me put together my rig. :cool2:

PS- I can buy a couple of parts next week, but the rest is by this month end. So pls keep that in mind.

Edit: Almost forgot, need to add a few fans. The zb01 takes 2 120mm and 2 80mm I believe.

Not available here, thats for sure! You will need to get it brought in from abroad. Perhaps you could ask deejay to help you out in that aspect.

Also not all are doing the miraculous 3Ghz overclocks, only the "CABNE" stepping will do that, as it seems to be more like the FX-57 core. The rest are doing more moderate overclocks of around ~ 2.7Ghz which is pretty decent as well.

Opteron 165 Dual-core with 2 x 1MB L2 cache ! Costs around 300$.

However, havent checked up OC'ing results on this thing as yet.
 
no it is not available here in india ..... even in US it is out of stock every where .....
 
Funky mentioned that the GT is available, and the GTO and GTO2 is available on order. Though Zhops has already grabbed his from the states :p
 
i mean the cpu as well as the mobo r bought in pune, for the cpu i think u'll get warranty in mumbai too, but for the mobo u'll have to ship it back to pune....the mobo is bought from the local xfx disti

Hey Zhops, what's with the Raid 0 config....
AFAIR, Eazy had posted an Anandtech article on Raid0 where the conclusion was you get ~0 performance boost in real world apps using Raid0...
Why wastin money on it?
