i want to buy a very good quality internal TV tuner card with remote.. so please do suggest me some good ones... i am just a noob in this piece of hardware ...

^^ any place u know where i can pick it up from. .. what will be the price range so i am not fooled incase. . thanks for reply.

hi,
i also wants one.
how is pinnacle compare to this...
what is advantage of this over pinacle...........

getting 19" monitor so wants best resolution as max as possible for watching TV and imp is recording discovery / NG serials......
do i need encoder or decoder to buy seperately....

:) pinnacle has slightly buggy software....uses a lot of system resources...you have a choice for the compro videomate tv gold plus2, the pixelview p7000(will be around 5k if u buy from rashi). also if you have a zebronics dealer nearby u can also try the leadtek cards...supposed to be very feature rich....

:D remember one thing though tv quality is also dependent on the broadcast signal u receive...in India it is generally bad and there is little the tv tuner can do in that case...

basically i need a card to watc tv when rendering is going on in background and oth other monitor i can see tv ... i dont wnt very resource hungry card cos it will reduce and effect my rendertimes...... secondly where is the place to buy the card that choas mentioned ...

If you don't wanna buy a card that uses a lot of resources then buy a card that has a hardware hardware MPEG encoder. The best tuner card is Theater 650 Pro.If this card is unavailable get a Theater 550 pro card. Pinnacle has buggy software, bad fm recording and attimes audio drifts out of sync with the video when you change channels,etc.etc.

Hi, I'm from New delhi and selling parts of my computer :

1. Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 MCE TV Tuner (Double Tuner with Double Hardware Encoder with FM, XP/ Vista Media Center Certified) -- Rs.4500/- (6 months old)

2. Hauppauge Windows Media Center Remote Kit -- Rs.1500/- (2 months old)

Why not just go for a Hauppage PVR-150 and be happy rather than going round and round so much...:bleh:
It has hardware MPEG encoder, so u can keep ur rendering going on while watching TV...:cool2:

And it costs a measly ~1700 bucks or so...:ohyeah:

At this value point there is nothing better than this...
Though, this has a issue with 64bit OS where u'll have to use <4GB to make it work.:@

Its really hard to find Hauppauge TV Tuners in India. Theres one dealer in Nehru Place who sells a PVR 150 for Es.8500/- and found him selling PVR 500 for Rs.13.5K, I bought this card for Rs.7800/-, now I need to upgrade to Hauppauge HVR 2200 MCE PCI-Express model, which has already been ordered. If you buy bothe items, them I'll ship these 2 for Rs.5500/- to you.
2 Hardware Encoders really mean alot, they work together to enhance the performance even when only 1 tuner is used, its like running 2 graphic cards in SLI Mode.
