I am looking for a new psu for 2k or at the max 2.5k...i am hoping to get something between 400W to 500W nothing more than that...

The system config is as..

X2 3800+ on MSI K8NGM2 FID
Leadtek 7600GT
Transcend 2*512mb DDR400
160 + 250 gb Seagate SATA II
Benq 1640

I am currently using an Antec SmartPower 350W which powers the system quite well...played NFS MW n Carbon without a problem...

But i just want a newer n higher rated psu to add more hdd's....

Thanks

i think you will be fine with the 350 watts .... as adding more hdd will not increase the load to much as each hdd consumes not more than max 20 watts.....

Zebronics Platinum 500W (1900+/-)
with 18A on +12v line
or
Powersafe 500W (2700+/-)
18A on +12V line
or
ColorSIT 450W (1400/-)
25A on +12V rail

p.s: all are Kol price, 15days old

Umm, I think those are old specs. My Powersafe 400 W has 20A on the 12V rail. Now Powersafe PSU's come with dual rails so it should have more power on the 12V line.

Dont buy powersafe. Kunhar is going to shut down shortly. They also have limited their warrant to 1.5 yrs.:(
It's true that they cut warranty from 3 yrs to 2 yrs at the start of Jan-07 but after that they again start to provide 3 yrs warranty.

As per me no body going to shut/divert once have Establish Brand In Market like Powersafe and VIP.

Recently I buy Powersafe 400W gold have dual rail and dual fan with following specs (mfg. dt: Dec-06):

+3.3v=20A
-5v=14A
+12v1=14A
+12v2=13A
-12v=0.3A
+5VSB=2.5A
PS-ON=REMOTE
POK=P.G.
COM=RETURN

While you said 12v=20A, why the diffrence in same product specs?:S

^@ Stick: Because his is an older PSU with a single-rail 12V line.
Yours is the updated version with dual-rail 12V lines.

Anyone have any idea abt the Zebronics Platinum series??? I am thinkin abt settling for the Powersafe 400w since its got dual 12v now...

^ The Zebronics Platinum is quite decent, and quality seems as good as the earlier Powersafe single-rail versions.

However the newer Powersafe with dual-rails (vs the Platinum's single rail) looks to be a better bet . Just keep an eye on the Max combined power on both the 12v rails :)

From wat Stick is sayin 12v1 + 12v2 = 27a

shld be more than sufficient for my rig is guess. :D
