To the Network gurus:

I'm looking out for an afforable access point so that I can access my bband connection. Since the lappy already has Wi-Fi, this is all that I would need, right?

Not looking for anything too expensive. Appreciate any help you could extend.

I was looking at the Linksys WRT54G. Is that any good? Also, what kind of prices would I be looking at?
 
Imoen...Actually what you are looking for is a Wireless Router (not an access point)...

Frankly, routers are more of a commodity than anything else ...Just go with a standard 802.11 g router from a any decent make (D-Link/Linksys/Belkin etc.)..Since the prices keep fluctuating, just pick up whatever decent make you get at the lowest price...

And don't get enamored by Pre-N or claimed 108mbps speeds, just pick up a simple 802.11g router and you won't go wrong
