Yeah. Need it for pc/laptop, to be used wirelessly.
Read some articles saying there are two versions of Xbox one controllers, early ones were Xbox only/dongle for pc and later ones came with Bluetooth.
Afaik, all series controller work with pc/mobile wirelessly.
