Graphic Cards X1900XT + P5B Dlx Compatibility Issues

Thanks Funky... Will try this @ Home... Btw if this does not work then whats the next step...

Possted the same issue on techpowerup and sapphire support forums... looks like nobody has a clue...

all i can suggest is try everything related to pci and pcie bus in bios.

This is indeed bummer. Lets see i will also look into it later tonight. will shift my x1900xt in hospital workstation and check again.

Funky you have tried flashing your card with a XTX bios also naa... That works... Maybe that will do the trick for me :D...

Anybody who would help me by telling me the best way to flash the card :P...

There is a windows flash available for the x1900xt. This is also for a sapphire card. I updated my x1800's BIOS, brought it to office and did the needful. Flawless.... don't do the old fashioned way..

I am cool with flashing the bios from DOS itself... Thats not the problem here...

Seriously guys... What are my options now :(... The card is 100% working and infact working great but is not compataible with certain mobos... The same card was working great with DFI Ultra D at 16x mode... Was working good with A8N SLi Dlx at 8x mode... But is not working with ASUS P5B Dlx at all... This is sooooo gay :@

Maybe i will try the card on the P5B Vannila itself now...

bah what dangerous? Just override the manufacturer and device id and flash to any XT/XTX bios. You can always flash back to default bios.

Try it :P

EDIT: Looks like you are angry at vole and boycotted messenger :P

Welll its the card mostly... tried all kinds of Bios and tried the card on three mobos

A8N Sli Dlx

P5B Dlx

P5B Vanilla

Mostly i will be returning the card to the dealer in Pune soon(Monday mostly). Though in the mean time i will try the card on a NON ASUS mobo too. Just hope the problem is solved asap.

^^ If the card ran flawlessly on DFI NF4 Ultra D @ 16X then the card isnt faulty.AFAIK compatibility issue cannot be called as a fault. If it gave problems with all mobos, then yes the card is faulty.

Just my 2 cents...

Well its giving a problem running at 16x at every mobo as of now... It doesnt boot at 16x... Thats a lot more then the compatability issue... I will try the card on MSI mobo tomorrow...

Also ASUS and Sapphire are two major brands... Loads of other peeps are running the same setup... So i dont think its a compatability issue... Also funky is running his X1900XT with a ASUS A8N Sli Dlx... So its definately not a compatability issue... As me and funky got our cards togather... So it cant be a different revision also...

Just my 2 cents...

Also Darky ask your dealer whats the RMA process...

P.S. : Also i got the DFI from you... I didnt mess around with jumper settings so i assume it was running flawlessly at 16x as i never bothered to mess around with that... Try to remember how you setted it up... 16x or 8x... Maybe Goku can help us... As he has the mobo now... If he can find out what speed is the PCIe slot is functioning at.
