CPU/Mobo X3 PII 720 on my 690V mobo...

how will it fit in..i am using 5600X2 as of now...what performance benefits can i get by going for PII720....not in a position to change my mobo(690v)...any better processors from AMD in coming months....shud b within 8k...and 120 odd wattage is a no-no...
 
I don't think AM2 will support AM3 processor :p You have to change the board and it I would say wait a lil ... AMD will release Athlon II and Phenom II X2 ...hopefully 8 series motherboard with Am3 will debut soon ...

Save and invest in both new proccy and Mb later on.. Phenom X3 720 will be a huge jump from X2 Athlon :p
 
yes..looks like waiting is a better option...but i saw 720 in cpu compatibility list on my products(690 mobo) page..u sure abt that PII not compatible with am2 mobos....my cpu is fine for gaming ,encoding and normal usage....am finding it tuff to many VMware o.s'es and similar emulation softwares..bro...exactly how many more months will it take for amd to come up with better X4-X3 processors and 8xx mobos.....thanx in advance..
 
Huh better ? AMD Phenom II X3 and X4 has already topple their counterparts what else do you want at that price range.. Better products should hit most prolly by June or Q2...

Few new launches are scheduled on April 20 :p
 
lol...let me see how it goes...may end up buying 720 and jetway mobo(the one u r using or the 08 version with ddr3--most probably with zero investment from U.S)...thanx again bro...
