Xbox Reportedly Bringing 'A Lot More' Games to PS5 and Switch 2​

Rumors suggest that Xbox has plans for plenty of its games to make appearances on the PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 in 2025. Many fans worried that Xbox was losing steam by changing its course, seemingly prioritizing cloud gaming and producing games with popular IPs like Indiana Jones and Doom. However, these strategies, along with a focused multiplatform approach, appear to be working out quite well for the company.

The Verge's Tom Warren has a pretty consistent track record when it comes to teasing information about upcoming releases. Previously, Warren hinted the April PS5 release dates of Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Now, Warren seems to have come across even more information about the PlayStation 5, along with some news regarding the Nintendo Switch 2.

"A Lot" of Xbox Games Set for PS5 and Switch in 2025​

One of Xbox's biggest recent launches was Starfield. Despite mixed reception following its launch, fans have appreciated how the game has managed to improve after two years of support. Allowing Switch 2 and PS5 players to tackle Starfield with all of its post-launch updates could give the game a chance to make a stronger impression on a wider pool of players.

Starfield is among a list of five Xbox exclusives rumored for a multiplatform release. Diablo 4, Fallout 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are also expected to drop on the Switch 2 sometime soon. These games could feasibly make their way onto the PS5 as well, keeping the momentum going for Xbox's advance into the multiplatform gaming market. Beyond 2025, the release window for more Xbox games on Switch 2 and PS5 isn't publicly known.

Microsoft can surely earn more money for a quater or two by releasing games on PS but I am not sure how well this will pan out for larger Xbox ecosystem when there would be no Xbox or very less Xbox exclusives. Exclusives are a very big reason for people buying consoles.
