Android Xiaomi! Avoid this company like plague

I full on agree it's my mistake to go ahead with xiaomi but I thought given its their most premium phone in market I wouldn't face any major issues.
It's not a mistake just your bad luck. Get over it.
I am at a loss as to what should be my course of action.
Stop wasting your energy. Stop freaking out.

We've explained the facts, just wait out the month for the part to arrive.
Usually, for newer products parts aren't available so soon as products failures like a mobo in your case is just 1 in 10000s or so.
Till then use an alt. device and let them do their job as its a usual process. A months time is usually a max estimation but usually parts arrive in 2-3 weeks or so.
See that bolded bit? That is the problem.

Follow the advice mentioned after

That is the company's problem. Why are they punishing the customer for their failure? No spares? Just exchange for a new phone without asking questions or making the customer run here and there and wait for a month and then find out that something else is not working and wait for another month etc.

Exactly this when I meant to say that they should be decent enough to replace it.
Again phones and Laptops are now days very essential part of the life. Hard to stay even one day without it. Few days can be manageable but asking customer to wait 1 months is very poor customer service.

maybe @mehtaarjun can just use old phone if he has spare or borrow and sort this out and once he gets his phone fixed . Sell it at decent loss like people suggested here and never go Xiaomi way again.

And that is why buying a product from a company with good aftersales support matter because luck is not something one can control. If @mehtaarjun had bought an iphone & due to his bad luck the phone developed a mother board issues within few days of purchase then by now he would have gotten a replacement/repaired phone by now.
yes. he already mentioned that he has realized his mistake. What is done is done.

That is the case with most companies.

This is down to policy. I've never heard of this being done in India. It's always repair or refund

are telling me that they will call me when they have parts in stock.
Have they placed the order for the spare part?
Do you have a service ticket number to escalate?

Switch to a backup phone for the time being, and keep trying to escalate.
Have you tried the nodal officer?
Keep it simple, just say your phone is defective, spare parts not available, and ask them to replace with a new phone.

Guys, he has specifically asked not to remind him about the 'grave mistake' he did and guide him if anything can be done in this matter. Can we stop telling him how great Apple and Samusng are and focus on the issue?
I am also waiting for my ASUS ROG strix 3080 ti for about 20 days now. It is way more expensive than a Xiaomi 13 pro. In absense of any specific guidelines these companies can do anything they want.

They use to do it.
Sony replaced my PSP after the screen was not turning off within just a week or so after the purchasing.

Generally if I remember correctly most electronics company used to have the policy to get the part repaired or refund within 14 days....many had this in their terms and conditions when purchasing household electronics.

He can ask for phones warranty extension for the lost weeks or months times taken by MI for the repairs.
But its India and not like to happen unless someone decide to really sue MI and then they might arrive at a fair negotiation..

Only if the phone was tied to some Telecom operator tings would have been very different here just like how it is in the west.

TnCs are different across brands and also these days phones are looked and treated like grocery items... Gone is the premium era when fewer phones used to launch per year and the service offered too was satisfactory!

Give me an example of phones where there are models coming out at different times of the year per company. You see the problem. Sammy can't do it either btw

Apple can do it because of how many phones a year they make. Whether they do this in India I don't know. It was only recently they even had some official presence here.

Some companies have this policy that they won't even generate a service ticket number without device being officially submitted & once that is done then no way to get it back until entire service request/procedure is completed which may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Also, asus after sales support in India is not good at least for laptops avoid them until getting at least 2-3 years ADP(accidental damage protection) plan which covers practically everything so service centre can't reject a claim citing "user misuse/mishandling".

I am trying to use the old phone its screen smashed due to my mistake after 3 years and replacing screen was cost like 15-20k so i thought might as well buy new phone.

The customer service guy on telephone was asking me for Job sheet number but the service center wont give any. I have gone there 3 times now sitting hours at a stretch. I cant keep doing this everyday it impacts my office. I told them that, Infact the diagnosis of my mobile was done on a video call because service center repair guy was not available for 2 continuous days. I emailed to grievance office about 5 days back. I emailed the nodal officer today.

Much thanks, Im tired of listening to this samsung and apple everywhere in office and in forum. I realize it now

If it was amex then you would have much more chances of chargeback approval but for any other card chances are not good especially since you are not claiming seller/shipment fraud. Amazon will remove such overly harsh reviews, my guess is you didn't post a review titled something like "poor aftersales support by xiaomi" or "poor build quality" & then went on to explain how the phone developed issues within a few days of purchase & service centre guys taking too much time.

Bank is least bothered if the item you bought is robbed, burnt or sold or whatever happens to it. You have to keep paying the emis.

Do this
1. Consumer court. You can file grievance case online. You can even avail service of any advocate in your locality. All you have to do is get a case open, go to service center and show that and they will run like chicken. You do not have to do legal battle for long time. Case you open is on grounds of Mi not taking service request though your phone is brand new. Make sure you record the call next time.
2. Show this to Mi India twitter account and tag us so that we can try to get more traction. If any news channel picks it up even as a small news bit, Mi will be in PR nightmare scenario. They may even offer you some goodies etc etc.
3. Continue to drop mails, when you visit service center, record video/audio without fail.

Or

You can feel angry 24x7 and run rounds at Mi service center(s). Your bank will not accept chargeback as there was no fraude during sale. This has to be fixed by Mi and only by Mi. Neither Amazon nor your bank will help.

If you know someone in press ask him to make a dhamaka news but the newschannel lead wont approve unless the sufferer is some famous personality, from his vicinity etc. Yet no harm trying. Start from small channels.

Press has a huge impact and you might be lucky to get even freebies and other goodies.

What is the turnaround time for google pixel devices? I'm assuming one has to send the device away to repair.

any update on this?
Downright trash experience. After multiple hassles went to service center again, then he asked me to wait, came back in 15minutes and turbo charger was working again.

After 2 days it stopped working, again went and emailed to multiple people and then it started working again.

Idk wtf is wrong, I have sent Xiaomi India a legal notice using my lawyer. Awaiting reply from them.

Can't even get this sold at a decent price anywhere. Olx is downright trash and I'm sure nobody here will buy the device after seeing the hassles I've faced in this thread.

damn thats rough I feel pity I never thought xiaomi stuff will have that much hassles. They are much established chinese brand compared to other chinese brands.
Some were compairing it with Samsung after service support but guess its far from truth.
