Xiaomi Mi3 update

I am not able to get a good Antutu score; max I could get in Performance Setting mode is 21k, am I not following something?

Download this ROM , it has same filename as the OTA one downloaded on my phone. The MD5 of the file I have is "6e904c681153f34513427d8207aa6ac6" . You can cross-verify that.

(The version and filename for Indian ROM is same as that of WCDMA versions *except China*. You can check online with MD5 I posted to check if that ROM link I posted is same.)

Tried this in the afternoon. Uses old binaries. TiBu gave a warning. Would still recommend going through the CWM + SU way.

Speed dialing as in ? I love how say if I want to type "Mom", I just click on 6 thrice (has both M & O) and it shows the number. Good stuff !

So if you root the phone and cant get ota, how do you know if there is an uppdate?

You will most probably be able to see updates but updating would cause errors or not happen at all. I rooted using CWM + Superuser after updating to V18.

The MI forum is a pain to navigate. Not very user friendly for searching, etc. I think we should make a mega post that contains all this information, as next week when a new set of people get their phones the same questions will be asked. A mega resource if you will, similar to a FAQ thread.

those with the factory screen layer, peel off because its interfering proximity sensor.

Are there any indications that Xiaomi might release the kernel source for MI3 in the future?
Nothing can beat this phone if it gets more Custom ROMs :)

Mi2s source was released somewhere in Feb if I'm not mistaken after the launch of the Chinese xiaomi mi3 ; guessing its due now! But quiet skeptical though!
 
Once MI4 is out, they will probably release the MI3 kernel source. Helps keep the dev work for the phone active, without requiring effort from Xiaomi.

And considering how customised MIUI is, AOSP on this phone would be another experience altogether.
