Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently announced a flurry of new products and is likely to unveil the alleged Mi5 soon enough. However, India, a market that has seen the company grow in leaps and bounds over the last year or so is yet to officially grab the Mi4 smartphone, even the Mipad, for that matter. The company announced that the Mi 4 smartphone will finally be coming to India on January 28, however, it did not say, at what price.

A new report (via IndianExpress.com) suggests that the Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone is likely to be priced at under Rs 20,000. The report quotes Xiaomi India head Manu Jain as having hinted towards the same.

If you head over to the Xiaomi World website, you'll find that the Mi 4 smartphone has been listed at $379.99 (roughly Rs 23,474) for the 4G variant. That, India pricing of most of Xiaomi's products are on similar lines suggests that the Mi 4 could be priced somewhere around Rs 20,000. Also, looking at Xiaomi's track record, the company has been known to lower the prices of its devices upon release, therefore an under Rs 20,000 price tag for the Mi4 won't be all that surprising.

The Xiaomi Mi4 will in all probability be available exclusively via Flipkart, just like the company's other devices.

To recall, the Mi4 was first launched in July last year. Xiaomi India head Manu Jain has earlier in December claimed that the device will be reaching India sometime in January 2015.

20k or below is steal price....

Too little, too late, IMO. Asus Zenfone 2 will eat this for breakfast. The only problem is it won't launch anytime soon.

Zenfone 2 needs to have aggressive pricing to have an impact on mi4 sales. Also media and entertainment conscious buyers would prefer Zenfone rather than Mi4 given more expansion capability.

Its pretty much a given that the Zenfone 2 will cost around 14k for the 2GB model. At that price, it will sure kill Mi4, assuming the Mi4 launches for about 20k.

Xiaomi launched their MI4 with a slight disappointment, Only 16GB versions/ White color for the moment/ No 4G![DOUBLEPOST=1422430162][/DOUBLEPOST]Registrations open today after 6PM, first sale is on Feb 10.

Xiaomi always dumps their 16GB only model in India, there was no 64GB for Mi3 in India and I'm afraid the same will be the case with MI4

Yeah, quite disappointing.

Does it have expandable memory, by any chance? & does pre-registration mean no more flash sales?

^Thanks. Well, this just sucks!

Edit: Can only hope that they drop the price on the penultimate day by at least 2k. Just 1k, as it has been in the past won't be enticing enough.

After using the oneplus I was delighted with strides Android OEM's have made in the recent years.
Specifically I was impressed with the power sipping abilities of SD801. The amount of screen time these recent android phones give is very good.
The only sore point I have with One plus is that It is a big phone. I thought will get used to it , but the Mi4 with its 5 inches looks very manegable.
let us see If FK sells white sliver color

Ya, I have been having OnePlus from a week and not yet gotten used to it's big size/.
