Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 2 4G smartphone in China as expected. Unless Xiaomi have done some serious optimizations to MIUI the phone is going to crawl with just 1 GB ram

I dont understand everyone is talking about the hardware, well no one really cares of the software?
Just having a top end hid spec'd hardware under the hood and a half baked s/w over it is not worth it!
4.7" and 720 is more than enough, 1080p, what does it bring to the table on the mobile front of a 4.7" screen?

They need to make the phone slimmer, lighter and thinner bezels. Not much, but atleast incremental. How hard could it be >_>

The software can just be flashed to a custom rom.

Nope. Been using MI3 for few months. No another Xiaomi product again.

You know it over the time how limited and crappy they have made the UI and experience in their quest to foolishly copy iOS to the book (except in the implementation and execution). It has a sad screen-to-body ratio. Speaker sound is less. Camera is below average. Call quality often drops. Launcher crashes like a feature.

Their build (externals) is at best average. The outer case (which prettily looks aluminium) gives in on ever flight impact or friction for the ugly white smudged plastic. I get it you get what you pay for and I will still hold it ahead of those Samsung and HTC phones prices 4 times its cost. But then again I will move on to something like Moto X or a good (and smaller) One Plus One.

And most importantly I've had experience with their customer care centre and it is run by the HTC guy where they also serve 100 other phone brands and I guess Xiaomi probably didn't pay them enough hence you are given the lowest priority and this bias is not even subtle by the executives there.
