XP Error--- NEED HELP URGENTLY..

Hi,
I posted that drive error before..
then i scanned my PC, it showed Virus infection in my System Memory. Then deleted some Virus infected files from System memory [that was a BIG mistake]
so i formatted and installed Fresh XP copy again, but after installing whenever i click on D, E or F Drive [not C] i get this error
8CD257FD.jpg

and when i want to open it by right click, there appears words like this

I formatted my system 2 times.. but its not solved.. please help me.

this is because of a virus. i had the same problem when a usb drive i was using was infected. This prob was seen on the usb drive only.

I think i removed it by going to folder options>file types>drive

click on advanced. In the file types box, only find should be listed. Any other option should be removed.

also use a good updated antivirus to remove it. My machine was not infected because vista refused to run the virus exe file when i attached the usb to my comp. So i was able to delete the virus.

if the above steps dont work, first format the drive in fat32 and then in ntfs. it should remove the virus.

^^ and what about all the data he has in the drive.

Ok 6pack's method may work...

anyway in the Advanced tab of Drive File Type

this should be written

If you don't care about your data on the HDD, you can reboot with the Windows XP installation CD, then delete the partitions on the HDD.

Now restart and reinstall Win XP afresh.

Download partition manager. See if detects your harddisk partitions. If it does, just resize the partitions one by one into smaller ones leaving space "before" the partition and backup. For eg: if your D: drive is of 30GB, resize the partition into 25GB and make sure the 5GB difference is "before" (before and after are numeric input fields which appear when your press resize in the side bar) the partition. DONT DO ALL PARTITIONS AT ONCE. Only one by one. And try to do this with the least data sensitive partition first.

I am in a little hurry otherwise could show you with images. Try and tell me if it works.

I solved that problem by formatting all drives..

but i did one mistake..

I made there Find as Default, and no other option is there...

now what to do??

Thanks in Advance..

I solved that problem by formatting all drives..

You formatted the drives, I thot that data was important.

Didn't get you, no option there, meaning only Find is there and not the II option? If so just add the first option manually.
