two hours of video playback in full brightness, two hours of gaming , two hours phone call with wifi connected>>>> four hours of screen on time plus the calls !

what is it .. a magical phone?

2300 mAh battery on a power efficient Snapdragon 400 chipset. That's what!

i am sure its just a ballpark figure he's talking about

however efficient it may be , there is no way he gets 2 hrs video on full brightness , 2 hrs of gaming and 2 hrs calls..

^^ I can't really defend or oppose his findings, but in my experience, the SP has been the only smartphone with such a large display to last for two full days on moderate usage.

you could get even 4 days out off a 2300 mah battery on stamina mode if you use it for only calls and texting...its the screen on time that matters since that's the main battery drainer .

If his phone really lasts that long on such usage, good for him. I doubt everyone experiences the same too, even with the 2,300mAh battery.

The overall battery life is really good though. It has one of the best battery capacity in Android smartphones. Check here: http://blog.gsmarena.com/sony-xperi...attery-test-gauntlet-with-impressive-numbers/

If you want a decent mid-high range Android smartphone, this is one of the best options out there now.

A dual core cpu along with 720p resolution screen will be more power efficient than a quad core cpu + 1080p screen on the same 2300 mAh battery. A 1080p screens are known to drain battery quickly as higher resolution demands more power from GPU.

It is the Xperia SP's balanced specification that sits on high capacity 2300 mAh battery which makes this device perform better than expected.

i am using it for the last two weeks and getting it dude!! May be because of it is not a 1080p dispaly.

S3 has an AMOLED screen, so colours are naturally gonna be more vivid. I really have no idea about the performance. When it comes to battery backup though, I'm think the SP will beat S3 hands down. This is probably one of the few large touch screen android devices that can last 2 days on a single charge. S3 owners can shed some light here.
Oh man, does the SP beat the S3 in that !!!

Talk time : SP - 19:49 S3 - 10:20 (almost twice as long and even beating the Note 2)
Web browsing : SP - 6:18 S3 - 6:27 (similar)
Video playback : SP - 7:27 S3 - 9:27 (the only edge the S3 has)

Battery life is a critical factor in a phone.
