As we all know that the consumer rights and other associated topics are a doormat on the entrances of all multi billion dollar companies. We use products and services from these companies every single day and take a gamble every single time we do so hoping that nothing breaks or goes wrong, fudging you up in the process. Laws are make for the protection of consumer rights but are overlooked by the government like a middle child in a bollywood family drama, mostly due to backroom dealing with the lobbyists.

Now a single person might now be able to do much about it but as a community we all can come together and do a heck of a lot more. You don't need to donate money, or ask anyone else to do the same. You don't need to run around on streets handing out flyers to every other person passing by and forcefully educate them either. All you need to do is give a bit of your time. Which most of you already do here on this forum.

I request all of my TE brothers who come across this thread to give 7 minutes of your time to watch this video and do as your heart desires.

Although this applies to US courts only, but this indeed is a good find by OP because if any 1 Indian Court Judge takes into cognizance based on evidence from this site then it becomes a Legal Precedent for all other future cases to follow. But will our orthodox legal system will take this evidence based on the US legal system or not is the question? Normally since we are part of the Common Wealth we sometimes take UK cases as evidence and give judgement. I think any High Court or Supreme Court Judge can set a Legal Precedence when adjudicating any issue in India. So any Consumer Court Case need to go through 2 stages to reach High Court and that too if the compensation given by the Consumer Court did not satisfy the Applicant or the Defendant cannot give the compensation then either might apply to a Higher Court which is the District Sessions Court.

It doesn't matter even if it is the it will cost the companies more to make exceptions and if good changes come there they will 100% follow and reach us too. This about changing things globally not just in the US or here, LG sells the same $3500 tv where they steal you personal data by default here as well as there, the same washing machines, the same refrigerators etc. and so does every other company. If they things around in one place it will be much easier to compel them to do the same here as well as everywhere else, just like apple had to adopt usb-c and is most probably soon going make repairs available at home here also.

In order to win together we need to fight against them and reach the same goal that we all share.

No they don't. India gets rubbish stuff. What USA gets and what India gets is completely different. Quality of components is different here and there.

Compelling companies to do what the customers want them to do here (no data collection, changing ToS, no lifetime subscriptions with constantly changing terms, no ads in paid services etc) is wishful thinking. Companies lobby millions to get laws in their favour. The law will always be lopsided. Customers will always be seen as money & data harvesting pools.

Well wishful thinking and trying to compel the the companies is what you have to start with, everything is wishful thinking. If we think that "ohh nothing can be done, nothing will ever change so why even try". Nothing will ever actually change the recent shift towards repairability in the entire industry and the chages in the actual os of many devices giving us greater control over what we share is a step in the right direction but this is only the beginning if we want things to change we need to make sure the problems are visible. Crying out loud and throwing your toys in the pram won't change anything. Somethings sold here might be of inferior quality maybe some TCL and Hisense tvs or some airpods with locked hearing aid functionality but most of the things are the same, and that can be changed too but only if we make it visible for others to see.

Again it's not your duty to do so, neither am I asking anyone to I am requesting everyone to look at the video and decide for themselves if they can spare 10 minutes of their day to make their and other consumers life better.
