Graphic Cards Zebronics 6600 GT 256MB : Worth it ?

I am looking to buy a video card within the next 10 days or so. I was all set to buy the XFX 6600GT until a read the post by techno_funky.

So my budget is 15k, I am looking for the 6600GT, but I want 256MB onboard memory. The only company that offers this and I have come across is Zebronics. Is it worth investing in this card. Are there any other 6600's available with 256 MB memory ?

Please help !

256 mb in a 6600 GT is not gonna improve the performance. If you really want a 256mb card get the Radeon X800 XL which cost 18k as stated by a member.

dude x800xl non-vivo according to chip is above 19k

also,256mb even helps in radeon 9800pro though it need not be every time, earlier 256mb cards were said to be slower nah?
also the diff always may not even be noticeale, confirm it though.

also asus 256mb geforce 6600gt pci-e is for 14-14.5k,smc international

bbc,128mb geforce 6600gt pci-e is for 10750 + tax,comes bundled with game,which game?

also,cost of g6600gt gamers editon?

As stated by Aces here.....the extra memory wont be of much help....Unless ofcourse u wanna play at 1280x1024 nd settings all high....
But not worth the card for 256mb.....
Get the Gigabyte's 6600gt nd invest in more Ram , if needed..

The problem with 6600Gt is 128bit memory. And there was practically no difference in performance even with 9800pro which had 256bit memory.
So i doubt 6600GT will benifit hugely from extra 128MB RAM. It may well at higher resolutions but i doubt it has that much horse power to game at high resolutions in first place.

Zebronics dont make thier own cards. They are mostly OEMs imported directly from the manufacturer by the distributors. The last time I bot a Zebronics card it was a MSI Ti4600 OEM. Since thier cards are mostly OEM, they offer 1yr warranty and pretty good prices. On the otherhand, cards from XFX, Asus n Gigabyte offer 3yr warranty but they cost more.

OK got it. Now I called Top Notch Infotrix (Zebronics Dealer) and the guy swears by this card : the 6800LE 128MB (256-bit). He is selling it for 14k. I think its a steal, even though its an LE I think it should give better performance than a 6600GT as it has 256-bit memory.

Please let me know what you think about the card and its price.

Cheers !

LE = 8pipes at 325MHz. 6600GT = 8 pipes at 500MHz. You decide which is faster.
The LE has more memory bandwidth 22GBps vs 16GBps for the 6600GT but its of no use since the fill rate is so low. There's a fairly good chance that u'll be able to unlock some of the pipes on that LE. But there's no guarantee to that.

if a AGP card is what u r looking for then this evga 6800nu agp card for sale at 13k is a much better deal that that 6800LE.

Agreed, it is a better deal, but there is no dealer and I don't know who this guy is. Now the 6800LE features the 6800 chipset (though underclocked).

Come on guys, I am already worn out trying to buy a good gaming machine.

Just tell me what you'll would have done in my place.

The choices are :
1. Gainward 6600GT GLH 128MB - 13k
2. Zebronics 6800LE 128MB - 14k

2. Zebronics 6800LE 128MB - 14k get this much better deal, Card is also better than a 6600GT
And this is in noo way underclocked compare to a regular 6800NU.
Core and memory speeds are the same. 325/700
the LE has only 8 Pixcel pipelines, the regular 6800NU has 12. But I am pretty sure that you can unlock the pipelines to 12x5 or if you are really lucky 16x6 (pixcel and vrtex pipelines) ;) .

The problem with 6600Gt is 128bit memory. And there was practically no difference in performance even with 9800pro which had 256bit memory.

256 mb would help the dual GPU sets, as the memory speeds makeup for the 128 bit bandwith. Also Hardboy in a 9800 pro 256 mb does not help at all other then 1600*1200 resolution, but thats unplayable hence performance diff is Nil.

Hmmmm
1vote to gigabyte thr from me.....

BUt if i were in ur place...wud hav gone for tht 6800nu at 12.5 or ;) ...lol

cuz it has warranty...only prob is its in USA nd if u can work out a deal with him if wud be a great deal.....

PS: says Masky can vouch for him....

OK, fine but I am not looking at the 6800NU. I want proper warranty in India.

Now about the 6800LE and the 6600GT, in games like HL-2 and DOOM 3, at 1024x768 AA, AF at 4X stock settings, what will perform better : 6600GT or 6800LE ?

well I say get the LE period. Good chance you can unlcok the pipelines. I think it performs as good as the GT infact in higher resolutions it might perform a little better than a 6600Gt cause of the 256bit memory interface.
