Some of the cabinets at panache.co.in have DC power built in. I wonder if they would work with this motherboard. If they do then we can go for the motherboard model without the power adapter.

I am planning to buy nvidia ION-ITX D-E model from newegg or tigerdirect as this particular motherboard is not available in INDIA right now. Local Zotac Disti. told me that it will take atleast 3-4 week to arrive this mobo.

Is International warranty applicable on Zotac Mobo ?

^ Checked with my guys price will be around or below 10.2k and availability @ within a week.

No international warranty afaik.

Has there been a new revision of this board or is it still the old revision? The first revision of this motherboard as reviewed by Anandtech had problem in waking up from USB. (Example: When used as a HTPC it wouldn't wake up from sleep with the press of a MCE remote button.)

@sumchamp. Thanx for the info. if you can arrange the board for me that would be great.

@skoka123. New Firmware has resolved the problems.

How can a firmware fix a hardware problem? As far as I understand from the anandtech article Zotac just did not provide enough juice in the usb ports. They have agreed as much. Only a new revision of the board can solve this problem.

See : AnandTech: Zotac's Ion: The Follow Up

Actually, waking up from sleep is the only thing that is holding me up from using it an HTPC extender. It would be a severe limitation if it cannot wake up from S3 state from a USB device (MCE Remote)

Can you specify which of the cabinets have got a power supply option? Cause i couldn't find the powers supply option.

Also does Panache ship single quantity to end users? This is because i had talked to the guys around 5~6 months earlier and they said that they would ship mine with another bulk order and i am supposed to collect mine from the warehouse or delivery point. They won't ship the single piece to me. So can someone confirm whether they are now shipping the products to end users house specifically single pieces? :S :S

I think getting a motherboard with out the DC supply and using it with a cabinet with DC supply might not work. I think the power input on the motherboard is different for both models. So, there is no point in going for a case with DC power supply.

Somebody correct me if they I am wrong.

All these and many more models have built-in DC supply.
Panache
Panache
Panache

I do not know about the shipping details.

Why won't it work?? After all a SMPS is nothing but a DC power supply.
So its quite feasible that you can get a board without the power supply and then use the power supply included with the cabinet.

A typical power socket on a MB is 20+4 pins. How do you connect a DC power brick output to it?

maybe if our dealers here in TE can help us out with some good deals.. that might solve the issue totally :)

^ You'll get an adapter for that along with the cabinet. :)
Are you sure that the cabinet comes with an adapter?

Another thing to note is that the Panache cabinets are coming with a 60W power supply while the one with the MB comes with 90W. From the various benchmarks it seems like 60W should be more than sufficient though.
