I have purchased a Zotac GTX 460 1GB card.
When I powered it on, the fan on the card tried to spin and then died down on the first time itself. Tried it a few more times but with the same results.

There is display from the card even though the fan is not spinning.
Tried it on both the PCI-Ex slots. Same result on both the slots.
I have tried various combinations of the 4 available PCI-Ex connectors on the SMPS (The card takes 2 6 pin PIC-Ex connectors). The result is always the same aka the fan run for a few second and then dies down.

I have a Gigabyte 890GX board with a Corsair TX 750 SMPS.

Which is faulty :
1. GTX 460
2. SMPS (Corsair TX 750)
3. Motherboard (Gigabyte 890GX)

Or am I missing something ??

Re: Help with GTX 460

if the card is giving display and fan not spinning then fan is dead .. get the card replaced .

Re: Help with GTX 460

Card Fan may be faulty but also check for the ground problems.. Like Motherboard having contacts with Case.. What ever..

Re: Help with GTX 460

Does the fan still spin up and stop whenever you boot ? If yes try to go back ASAP and get another one, its a brand new card that seems defective get a replacement.

Re: Help with GTX 460

Just to be sure check it on another system. If the same -- RMA time.
