Yup. Other than the display most of the other components are top of the line in One X and One S with the Krait 4 being the one of the fastest mobile processor in the market. So guess its along expected lines!
If 4.7" is too big then they can opt for the 4.3" one with a processor matching the Tegra 3!

I wouldnt say the display is inferior. I have used both Super LCD 2 and super amoled + ever the HD versions. U win some, you lose some. Thats how I would rate them againt each other.

Super LCD 2

Pros:

Real life picture
The display is rigt on the screen and doesnt look likes its busined underneath a glass
Proper saturation

Cons:

Sun light legibility
Loss of deeper blacks

Super duper amoled ++ uber awesome HD screens(too many variations to remember them)

Pros:
Amazing depth and blacks
Superb sunlight legibility
Pics just dazzle you with their vibrancy

Cons:
Pictures look way over saturated
hurts your eyes with their over vibrancy
looses its natural colors.

And I think S and X offer a like of flexibility where people with smaller hands dont need to forgo the extra processing power.

At the current price points, SGS3 looks grossly over priced. HTC did good this year.

The HTC One S has a qHD SAMOLED (pentile) display(256ppi). So its definitely inferior to the HTC One X with the 4.7" SLCD2 HD dispaly (RGB+ 312ppi)
Also the HTC One X has arguably the best LCD display in the market

The One X display offers arguably the best image quality of any LCD on the market. Not only is it remarkably sharp (at about 312 ppi, it's virtually impossible to distinguish individual pixels), but also has great contrast and nicely saturated colors.
As you can see in the table below, the screen is pretty bright as well and its viewing angles are splendid - the icons look almost as if they are painted on the screen. The blacks aren't as deep as those of the AMOLEDs out there, but still great in LCD terms. Sunlight legibility is close behind the market best, which is good enough to not cause any usability issues. Overall, the One X screen has no major weaknesses to speak of.
As things currently stand, there are very few smartphones out there who can match the One X for display quality, let alone beat it.

The HTC One S screen has familiar size and resolution - it's a 4.3" qHD (540x960) unit. That's the same specs as the Sensation XE, but HTC have gone with a Super AMOLED display instead of S-LCD this time around.
Yes, that means the matrix has a PenTile arrangement, which is offset slightly by the higher pixel density (256ppi), though it's still noticeable. It's one of those things that you can easily live with or be constantly annoyed by. Have a look at the screen in a store and you'll know in which camp you belong, if you don't already.

htc sensation sales will pick up pace with this pricing..
once its stock is cleared, maybe htc decide on a better pricing..
