Can't agree more. No one is joining the armed forces because they are brimming with patriotism and itching to die for the country. They are also normal people with families of their own and are doing what best they can to make a living. Their job comes with more hardships and risk to life than any of us can imagine they often get killed in the line of their duty. The word "Martyr" is thrown around so easily by politicians and pretentious self proclaimed patriots, but there is nothing more insulting and dehumanizing than that. I hate it when this word is used to erase the human underneath and reduce them nothing more than the shell of a being whose duty it was to die for the country.

The way people are using the word martyr in our local media is shocking in it's similarity to the way islamist terrorists use it.

It's like somehow the death is now justified and glorified just because:

a) you are a soldier &
b) you died fighting (or not) for the country

The other side is hijacking the legitimate use of the word to lend credence to their cause.

They're aping us not the other way around.[DOUBLEPOST=1550515348][/DOUBLEPOST]
Here you have the brainwashing and indoctrination teaching them about the many positives of a martyrs death...
Kids are young and dumb.[DOUBLEPOST=1550515862][/DOUBLEPOST]We got the bomb maker

Ghazi, who was an Afghan war veteran and an IED specialist, was the one who trained Adil Dar, the terrorist from Pulwama who drove the explosive laden vehicle into the CRPF convoy.

I am seeing a lot of references to armed forces everywhere in relation to this incident, but the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) has nothing to do with the Army. They are a Special Police Force with extensive training to deal with special situations inside the country and operates under the central govt. The don't have the same level of autonomy as the Armed forces. The CRPF is also deployed in the areas with Maoist insurgency and are frequently subject to similar kind of attacks using IED's there are well. The irony of the situation is the double standards towards those getting killed in those operations.

Man, you just don't understand the distal honour code.

Border deaths have the most honour. The further inwards you go, the less the honour. In fact, legend has it that in the very center of india, far from the borders, you get maximum honour for dying as a cow, and your killers will definitely be brought to justice, unlike say if you died as a policeman...

Sez who?

Wow, they got all this information so fast after the attack, and already killed the mastermind!

What were they doing earlier, sleeping?
We already knew he infiltrated in Dec. Trick was catching the perp. We did it.

This is something else that is so hard to digest. The incredible efficiency of our system. After dozens of people die...
You never hear of the other 99 times they successfully foil an attack. One slip up and its world news.

That just the lot the counter terror folks have to live with.[DOUBLEPOST=1550589808][/DOUBLEPOST]Amarinder proof.JPG
Fitting reply.

He was in maha. Check his tweets

So it is true.

Modi announced an all-party meet, called for the opposition to unite, got their support and then couldn't fly from mah to delhi (~2 hours) to attend the damn meet himself? Instead carried on with his election campaigning and 'development' project launching. How shameless is this guy really.[DOUBLEPOST=1550623171][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok, it's starting to make sense now:

https://thewire.in/politics/bjp-alliances-united-opposition

https://www.hindustantimes.com/edit...nd-alliance/story-w22woqWvx1Aqi0asxEtKKP.html

They should rename themselves the BS party.[DOUBLEPOST=1550625388][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh yeah, he also personally picked up 'Sawman' from the airport like a long-lost old buddy, JUST after he was all chummy with imran, and said "can't say no to pakistan" and signed $20 BILLION in deals after already having given them a $6 billion loan.

Proves he's just another spineless politician who only cares about staying in power, not the country or soldiers or whatever, irrespective of thumping his whatever inch chest.

They are talking no chances which is good. It's going to be a tough fight.

And the saudis and Iranians put up with up with Modi flying between Riyadh & Tehran ?

And then Modi goes off to Tel aviv. Modern diplomacy is about business and national interests.

Yeah, like trump first saying sawman is innocent, then adding that even if he did have khashoggi killed, he doesn't care because it's in his business interests (arms deals etc.)

They're all filthy scum, and those condoning their actions are no better...

Can I ask you why that everyone speaks for modi a bhakt? And why you never said a word when opposition denied to sign an blank cheque to support the centre on anti-terrisom?
I've seen you calling multiple people bhakts, you have some serious hate issues buddy!

Cause after seeing what this person has being doing for so many years, the only reason someone would continue supporting him would be if they were blindly devoted to him and the party. I.e. bhakt.

And no, there's no hate, just terribly disappointed that even educated people can be so gullible and foolish.[DOUBLEPOST=1550634583][/DOUBLEPOST]And you should probably re-evaluate your definition of hate, because that's exactly what the bjp/rss/vhp/etc goons have when they engage in repeated acts of domestic terrorism.

They even hate valentine's day and santa claus FFS

I'm not going to get into this cat fight of left vs right , bhakt vs antinationalist. But I can surely say THERE HAS BEEN DEVELOPMENT and I' have been benefitted from it . You can call me a bhakt if you will but I like this government more than the previous one . I hate this government for it's few decisions too! And I don't have enough faith in congress because of things they did.
Good day buddy [emoji3]

You're absolutely right, there is no point arguing, since everyone is entitled to their opinion.

About development, there is nothing that wasn't following the normal trend if you look at the graphs, they haven't done anything to actually increase it. If anything, the economy has gone backwards a few years, but the govt. keeps changing the calculations and parameters to make it appear they are doing well. All this is well documented, so those who really want to can see it. Those who want to defend them at any cost, will refuse to accept the truth.

Personally, i never liked the previous govt. either but they weren't murderous rampaging hordes with a nazi-like agenda. And the previous govt. didn't tax the shit out of me the way the present one is. So net result is it's a loss to me overall. Whoever's in charge the people suffer. If you don't mind i'd like to know how you have personally benefited, unless it's too confidential...

Good day to you too !
