I own an ipod touch. My friend is returning from USA and i am thinking of getting a portable mp3 player which i can carry whole day. Now, I want a player with matched quality as ipod. Can sansa clip+ solve the requirement? I dont want any expensive one. Any under 2k (getting sansa from USA for 1500).

I think it will be perfect, read this review for further clarification of its performance and whether you will be happy with it.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

As sandeepsachin points out, the Clip+ (and most Sansa players) measure very good on frequency response charts. Basically it means the player outputs clean sound without any colouration. Some do find a bit of colouration pleasing, but you can do the same on Clip+ by equalization.

However its battery life isn't very good; which is quite understandable given its tiny size & weight. IIRC, the Clip+ has a battery life of around 8-9 hrs. While it should suffice for long commutes & some more, I'm not sure it might be able to handle all-day-playing.

Had the Clip+ , still own the touch , clip+ got lost now have the zip. Let me tell you the touch doesnt come anywhere near in terms of SQ to the Clip+ , the bass reproduction of the Clip+ is much better , and even the sound reproduction . I would prefer charging clip+ everynight and listening despite touch being able to play 20-30 hrs of music

. Get it with eyes closed and rockbox it and njoy

Harshit, Sansa Clip Plus is an amazing player. I have one and I would buy one more without blinking an eyelid to keep as spare. The only chink in the armor of this other wise awesome player is limited battery life, around 9 hours and slight lack of power when it comes to less sensitive iems/hps. And all this for a mere 40$!

Dont think twice, gets the Sansa clip+. I guarantee you once you use that for music, you wont touch the I pod touch again.

Sansa Clip + is just wonderful. The Stock FW does give backup of 9 hrs but with Rockbox there will be hell-of-a-lot improvement not only in battery back-up(above 25 hrs) but the SQ , EQ option come with it .. Heck!! you could even play games after Rockbox.

Really? That much of an increase in battery life?

I personally never found an improve in battery after rockbox , maybe around 30min-1 hour , but the eq was much easier to handle directly via the bass , treble options

Me neither - same 10-12 hours as before.

I only remember reading about 15 hours for Clip+ with Rockbox. 20 hrs+ could be for the Fuze V2. Can you check the battery life of your Clip+ (probably using Battery benchmark plugin)?
