Sony Xperia U - Buy it? (Stop me from hesitating)

DarkAngel and guys, how do I check when my order will be delivered from sulekha?

At first I saw comments of people saying they received it in 2 days. Then I read 3-4 days on Sulekha's page.

Then yesterday Sulekha updated that the device will be shippe don or before 22nd June. Today it's 25th June. WTF is this? Why are they screwing with me? Did I make a mistake ordering from them?

EDIT: Got it. In transit. Probably getting it tomorrow.

If you need higher storage, well you have Following options, but at a slightly higher price:
- Xperia Sola
- Galaxy S Advance(20K or lesser if imported)
- Galaxy Nexus 22-23K, but best bang for the buck!!

Else, Wait for Ace 2 and other Dual cores to come

where can i get it for 22-23k.........????i wanna buy it

A droid for 15k - I can't wait anymore

Okay, even my mom is taking pity on my broken (literally) 5230 that I refuse to stop using and is urging me to buy a smartphone already. My budget is 15k. It seems the Galaxy Nexus cannot come within 20k so I see no point in waiting for it now (but that depends, still time left). I'm open to 2nd hand phones off ebay or from here. I would go for Windows Phone, but it's not getting WP8 (the current ones). And if I wait till October, WP8 phones will anyways be at least 20k. No point really.

So, my budget is 15k with 2nd hand as an option (with at least a few months of warranty remaining however). I would love to lay hands on a Nexus S if possible. If anybody has any suggestions, or can look/find some deals. Otherwise the Xperia U is on cards (which I don't want to buy honestly). And Galaxy Ace 2 won't launch for like FOrEVER! (unless someone has news of that).

One more requirement is a good community support at XDA (so there will be ROMs of future Android versions).

I've dug out the following deals from ebay and seek your opinions. If there are more, it would be lovely for you to post a link here.

1. Google Nexus S AMOLED (~13k) - http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290736163982#ht_500wt_1156

2. Sony Ericsson Xperia PRO (13.8k) - http://www.ebay.in/itm/BRAND-NEW-SO...le_Phones&hash=item27c88d5ae5#ht_19752wt_1139

3. Sony Xperia U (14.9k) - http://www.ebay.in/itm/Brand-New-Or...bile_Phones&hash=item20c7811c6c#ht_3038wt_905

4. Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (12.9k) - http://www.ebay.in/itm/Brand-New-Or...bile_Phones&hash=item20c1420919#ht_2676wt_905

I'm really uncomfortable with the tiny screen.

I don't think I could live with the memory limitation. I live with 8 GB of music minimum on my 5230. And yes I do listen to all of them!

The white neo v looks very tempting. if you can live with the single core processor and slightly dated looks, neo v offers the best features . The phone is a parallel import from china and the seller has a great reputation.just checked his other listings and looks like he's sold more than 500 pieces of neo v, 500 of experia ray . also, there's official ICS update for the neo v and rom support is not that bad on XDA. personally i would go with the neo v. just my two cents

Hi comp@ddict. I suggest you have a look at Motorola Defy Plus. it's an excellent mob. I have been using it for nearly 6 months now, and I love it. It meets all your requirements fully. I purchased it from "Saholic" as they offer slightly better price than Flipkart. But they are also pretty slow as compared with Flipkart.

The links of both Saholic and Flipkart are here:

Saholic @ 13,999/- > http://www.saholic.com/mobile-phones/motorola-defy+-mb526-1002116

Flipkart @ 14,499/- > http://www.flipkart.com/motorola-de...4ZPD&ref=7dfb353e-d174-4f32-8e2d-5a143877bd57

Enjoy

The Defy+ or the Neo V make most sense in your budget unless you want to go the Spice/Karbonn way. The Neo V has pretty good dev support, while the Defy + is very rugged. The link you've provided for the Nexus S is up for bidding and I doubt it will go for 13k in the end.

There was a Galaxy S2 selling for 17k in the classified sections recently. It was a pretty good deal. Too bad that it's sold out now. You should probably take a look at this deal

The Xperia Pro and the Neo V are pretty identical in terms of hardware, if I'm not mistaken. However, the Neo V has far better community support and this might be a factor in your decision.

The Nexus S looks good and if you're getting it for 13k, methinks you should go for it. It's one of the two phones which will be getting the Jelly Bean update before everyone else, the other being the Galaxy Nexus.

I swear I saw an Xperia Pro at xda forum. It's just DISAPPEARED now. I have no clue. w00t

Well, the Nexus S is AMOLED version. It's from US. Any problems in general?

I'm so confused man.

The SAMOLED version is better since AFAIK the SLCD version was only for the Indian market. Yes, we seem to always get the lower end of the deal when it comes to Nexus devices (no N One, GNex, SLCD Nexus S, etc.)

The Nexus S does not come not come with a micro SD slot but 16GB should suffice, I guess.

I'm not buying a Defy/Defy Plus/Defy whatever at any cost.

Well, there are 7 more days for the Google Nexus S Bid on ebay. Till then keep hitting me with deals. I'm inclined on the Nexus S for community support as well as Google official support. More so, the super amoled display and slightly curved design.

I see Xperia U doesn't even have a forum at XDA. That is simply bad. Sony will take till next year to give the ICS upgrade (without bugs, see Xperia S).

Also, seeing the custom ROMs for Lumia 710/800 and Samsung Omnia W, you think the community would be able to port WP8 to them?
