ok. so got my preferred ringtone . Now need to ask following :
1. anyway that i can make my fone ring and vibrate simultaneously ? It vibrates fr a sec and then rings without vibrating.
2. how much time it takes GPS to lock the location ?
3. any way to switch off the autoo correction in the messages ?
4. provision to store / lock specific messages ?
5. any more themes ?
6. any app which can show me how my battery is getting drained ? lke in android i know wt eates up the battery.

All in all for a person who needs a fone for basic telephony and social networking its a grt fone ..

It's a known trick used by airtel kolkata. Just create a new connection, name it as you like, provide the requisite apns, viz airtelgprs.com and airtelmms.com and you are good to go. It shows H if 3g is activated. buzz me if you want to know more.

1)Download "Stop the Music" from the Marketplace.
2)Go to "Tabs" under the main menu in IE and close all the tabs manually.


Anyone with Omnia W , got Tango already? Some people have reported the update.

2. GPS works differently, first it gets cell tower, and if your app requires higher accuracy it takes the GPS, i usually get within 10 seconds.

4. You can save text messages using SMS backup, (works if your device is interop unlocked)
5. there is a theme install XAP, you will find it in XAP or you can use advanced configuration to create custom color of your choice
6. Battery status is what you are looking at (needs interop unlock)

To close the browser pages, just select TABS from app bar, and close all the tabs.

using samsung focus with nokia drive. it keeps on waiting for minutes and then i get frustrated and shut it.

This is the most basic thing about WP, you need to know - you do not need to close apps. i repeat, you do not need to close apps. This is not android , you do not have memory issues with WP. It manages the memory quite well.
when you're done with IE simply press the windows button and goto start screen. And use your phone

installed 8gb class 4 card. The phone has been behaving strangely since . Slow downs, less responsive touch and all.
Any fix for this guys ?
If no, then is there any specific way to remove the card so tht it does not harm the phone usage afterwards ??

I presume that you have the focus... micro SD and windows phone 7 doesn't go together, on the focus there are only few cards which work well, you will have to search for the thread which has this discussion on xda. I have a transcend 8GB and it has worked well so far.

guys plz help me out in activating 3g on my focus. I have recharged with 99 for 300mb data. wen i switch it on i can see the 3g signal on top but i cnt access net.
Also wen i select 3g the network falls down to 1 -2 bars else if i select 2g/edge then the network is full.

I am on phailtel.

btw, could someone suggest the best rom other than clean rom for samsung focus. a bit noob question but whats the difference between mango and tango?

Tango is a minor update over mango. However, its not a real dealbreaker. 7.8 is gonna be a huge one.

Also, why no indic fonts in WP

For me, I consciously kept the phone close to my face for a few days while speaking and now it doesn't happen.

You are right. As workaround, I press the power button to manually lock the phone. Works perfectly

I got it to work. I got a pair of cheap china copy of a white sammy earphone for 60 bucks. Works with that perfectly (well most of the channels).

Found another stupid thing, but dont know if its with this phone or them all. Proximity sensor did not work in complete darkness
