The "Everyday" show-off thread !

Finally managed to get my lazy ass to post some pics. :p (Yet to take pictures of Nexus 7 2013 :|)
Had bought a CM Storm QuickFire Rapid with Cherry MX Green. Been using this now for almost 3 weeks and it's such a bliss!

Nice! Never tried a keyboard with greens before. Do you like tenkeyless designs? Somehow they just don't agree to me :p.

@TechHead Hehe. Enjoy the luxury of using any legacy lenses. Btw, IIRC, dpr said something about the low buffer of D7100. What do you feel in burst mode ? That one is on my wishlist for birding as the 7D Mk II is probably gonna be way more expensive.

Not seeing any issues in JPEG. RAWs - yep, there is an issue, but I don't bird too much, so YMMV.

I had recently got a chance to try Green switches and liked them. It's like the Blues but much heavier. I was gonna buy Brown switches but saw this was in stock on Amazon and went ahead with it. I have slightly weird preferences. Though Blues are my least favorite switches, I prefer the Greens. It turned out to be a bit more expensive, but oh well. :p
Yeah I'm loving the TKL design. I was worried at first but I soon realized it's the way to go. I would seriously suggest trying it out. It takes up less space so mouse is closer. Punching numbers on keypad is easier but it depends on how much you really need them. I was actually considering a more compact design.

That and you do with whatever light you've. Need to get a flash bouncer. :/

These awesome pics and your choices for the BRs make me wanna start my own collection but then my mind starts counting the costs and I have to resort to the usual scrupulous methods to watch full BRs on my TV.:(
I still remember the good old days when a 700MB aXXo rip seemed more than enough. Then I shifted to full DVDs, then to BRRips and now to full BRs. Now the 4k rips and then full 4k Blurays will come. I don't know when it will all stop.

I still resort to usual scrupulous methods for some movies/shows. But yeah, try to get what you like. For example, I liked Banshee enough to stop seeing it 2 episodes midway and bought the blu when it went on sale. Finished watching it after that. Same for BB/Mad Men and many others.
As for the bolded part, it will never stop. Something new is always on the horizon.

Alekh, we need a snap of your entire bluray collection now! Enough is enough I say. We've waited long and liked on countless posts in this thread already! :p

Amazing snaps as always.
Hehe. Not possible atm. No such display case due to spatial issues. Possibly in future. :(
You can check my collection digitally here: http://www.blu-ray.com/community/collection.php?u=188533 :p

Damn. That's a huge collection. You need to write a guide for us newbies who want to start a collection. Would help us know about the sources and what and where to look for. One thing I wanted to ask, whether it is financially viable to order one Bluray at a time. I don't think it would be considering shipping prices from US/UK.

Thanks. It's not huge by any means (collected over 3 years), specially if you see the stalwarts in that forum (2000+ blus :O). How to start a collection is something really personal. I mean I started when I got my own HDTV in 2011 and just bought the more popular ones (Matrix trilogy/Harry Potter etc). Watching the extras in some of these, I was in love ! And thus started searching the blu-ray forums for discussion on various movies, which ones to buy from which region yada yada. I still stick to Amazon UK and US only (ease of payment, good shipping and excellent CC).
If you're planning on starting, watch out for Black Friday. The whole week will have ridiculous pricing on practically anything and everything. So set your Amazon alerts and hunt for those golden deals !
As for the shipping prices, UK is quite good as they don't pre-charge import deposit. Amazon US is costly for single purchases.

Thanks. I asked because even I just got myself a 51" Plasma. Since then I have only been downloading full BRs but you don't get those easily for TV Series. Frankly though, on the new TV, even the 720p content looks very good and I don't think I can easily tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. Full BRs are on another level though. I am thinking of starting my collection with 'The Band of Brothers'. I have always kept postponing watching that series waiting for better quality prints and I think it will be perfect to start a collection. I will have to buy an external BD drive for my Macbook Air though before I start on the collection.

Awesome. On a 51", 1080 will definitely look better than 720p. TBoB is awesome, but my favorite among the trio is Generation Kill. Must have seen 4-5 times, and it never gets boring. Plus the extras as pretty amazing.
