Hathway Broadband has launched new "affordable 50 mbps plans based one the Docsis 3.0 platform.

The plans can be seen at Hathway Or specifically : http://www.hathway.com/broadband/broadband_home.php

I was on a 2mbps 4gb per month, plan which used to cost me 3045 per 6 months.(secondary connection).

When i went to renew today , i was introduced to the new plans. 50 MBPS,10 GB per month,512 kbps post FUP, 3819 for 6 months, which is just awesome.

Also hathway are offering a DLINK WIFI Router free of cost (i.e. 0 rental , refundable deposit of 1000) and a CISCO modem (Rental 50/- for 6 months).

Old users are allowed to switch over free of cost, and new cisco modem is being provided to replace the old Scientific Atlanta one.
And the prices are inclusive of taxes, ignore error in document below.Atleast i paid just 3819 for the 50 mbps plan.
Following is the plans list i got :

My plan will be activated on Monday/Tuesday (but only after they give me new CISCO cable modem)...as old plan expires on 2/2/2013.

Will then post pingtest and speedtest results.

no offence to anyone on this thread.. but the above plans are just outrageously expensive.. i dont know why you put up with such high prices... you paid more than 3 grand for a 2 Mbps connection with a measly 4 GB FUP policy??/ and you went to renew it???

havent any of you guys heard of YouTelecom?? they've got some of the best and most customer centric broadband plans...

3 Grand for 6 months not 1 month. Also you has pathetic service(around 9 friends have it) , and they do not provide service in Andheri West , which is even more sad.

And i dont use this connection , this is used at home by my parents and they do not need unlimited connection , so even the 4gb is not used up every month.

Anyways i dont see you broadband 50 mbps plans for 600 per month, coz that is what hathway is offering.

I use MTNL 1/2mbps no fup,450 per month.

Sure as hell , wont pay 2k per month for 50mbps from YooBroadBand.

Mumbai doesnt have 50 mbps either.

Max youbroadband offers is 12mbps (25 GB FUP)...for 1270 + taxes for 1 month.

770 Installation charges plus 900 Refundable deposit for modem.

From the above screenshot.

6 months "UPTO" 10 mbps is 4694 plus taxes.approx 10 gb per month , and 512 kbps after FUP.

Sure YouBroadBand is customer centric.

Seems legit.

I now pay 3819 for 6 months , 10 gb per month , for 50 mbps.512 kbps after fup...

please guys... first get one thing straight.. it doesnt make a difference to the broadband companies to give you speed.. it costs them the amount of data that you download. basically, if you're using a limited connection of say 10 GB, it doesnt make a difference to them whether they give you 1 Mbps or 95 Mbps. these speed barriers are artificially created so they can charge different amounts of money from the customers. Now you're happy that you got a 50 Mbps connection but whats the FUP on such a high speed connection?? 10 GB?? thats bloody insulting.. 10 gb will be downloaded in a blink of an eye. and then what? you're gonna get stuck at 512 Kbps!!! they should atleast have the courtesy to bring down the FUP limit speed to not less than 2 to 4 Mbps from 50. giving these high speeds is just a big marketing gimmick.

even in YouTelecom on the 12 Mbps connection with an FUP of total 375 GB for the whole year, . ie approx 30 GB per month, the speed only comes down to 1 Mbps. So you can still end up download more than a 100 GB on a 24 x 7 connection.[DOUBLEPOST=1391245623][/DOUBLEPOST]maybe a region problem then.. YouTelecom has the best service in my city...[DOUBLEPOST=1391245950][/DOUBLEPOST]ok. then.. in your first post, you specifically wrote Rs. 3045 per month.. thats why I thought its too expensive

Ofcourse Mumbai has shit plans , thats why this is revolutionary.

Nothing Beats beam telecom in Hyderabad,ACT in bangalore and Chennai,Alliance in Kolkata.

you know any people who've experienced the fibre connection from BSNL?? the plans in my city are shitty as hell. .but just wanna know about the experience..

Why dont you go with the plan which has 512kbps in day and 2.5mbps at night i.e from 12-9am ?
i pay 550rs per month including taxes and all
My average download per month is around 100gb[DOUBLEPOST=1391249634][/DOUBLEPOST]forgot to mention - The plan which i mentioned above is a NO FUP PLAN :D

Because as said by him above, only his parents are gonna use this plan and they might not even trip the FUP.

Not bad.. I have realised that after and initial burst of downloading, my spree has more or less ended. I only download a few episodes or a few movies now. Games might have caused heavy downloads, but I don't play any except TF2. Right now I pay 2k per month for a 2 Mbps DL/512k UL(No FUP, fully unlimited) connection which I am quite satisfied. I was offered another plan, which I have highlighted below; 20 Mbps for 2.25k per month with a 50GB cap. I am quite tempted to take it but I think I will hit the cap much faster if I have access to 20 Mbps. Still thinking of trying it out though.

@Sei - 2k per month ? and the plans you mentioned are also costing more and with FUP
i dont know whether i will be sounding like a noob or not, but at 2k per month cant you get a NO FUP plan with 2 or 4 mbps ?

No you are not sounding like a noob but I did mention that I already have a 2Mbps plan that is totally unlimited. Our society only allows Tata and BSNL. Tata is expensive but has an almost 100% uptime. I really value that. In my previous flat (different society), I had Reliance which used to go down quite frequently. It was extremely frustrating, to say the least.

What I am saying here is (in agreement with the OP) that I don't download much anymore (have 5TB+ data, most of it unwatched :() and maybe this FUP limit won't affect me much. It would be good to have 20 Mbps though. I would have been fine with 16 Mbps as well but those pr1ck$ have kept the post FUP download speed as 512Kbps.. really pathetic move.

Ouch - im in JVPD/Juhu lane and i pay Tata (ex Seven Star) over 1k a month for 512kbps. :(
Anyone knows if You or Hathway or any others have good service in this area?

@Sei - ohk, its the restriction from your society which is forcing you to pay more
Yeah the post fup download speed as 512 is really a bad move
As far as plan choosing is concerned, I think 16Mbps plan would be perfect for you keeping apart the post fup speed, the limit is also 80gb so thats a small plus point

You does not have service in the Andheri West area , and i guess JVPD falls in that area.

Hathway on the other hand has the best service in Mumbai in this region...as the only players present here are Hathway,7star,MTNL...a few use pacenet (no idea..)...

7star has a 8k plan per year 1mbps no fup...are u sure you are paying over 1k per month ?

For some ISPs post reaching the FUP, even the caching speed from torrents/google servers too is capped? is it?
have seen pacenet users get around 10mbps speeds on 512kbps connections hence the query.
