Xiaomi Mi3 - The BEST OotB experience I ever had !

The OOTB is great, but I prefer CM>MIUI ,Stock Android>any other OOTB XP.

I found the phone too large - even for my large hands. Might be actually thinking of selling this phone.

Screen - great. Have come to like IPS screens over AMOLEDs.

Battery seemed good.

Speakers - a bit low volume compared to some other phones, but not bad.

Liked the music features, where I could choose what earbuds I had. Was able to play from my playlists on Play Music immediately.

The saddened part is the default browser was faster than the Chrome browser, I dont know if it was only me feeling that way!

Same here, but I prefer Chrome Beta. Love the history feature.

So rooted the Mi3 by installing CWM and then SU (from Chainfire). Now running Mi-tools atop WSM (which runs on Xposed).

Any site to download premium MIUI themes ? The paid content hasn't gone live in India yet. :/

Even if u download try to install, miui will verify for certification of the paid/free content. In a way to stop ppl from using pirated paid content.

Hmmm. I hope they launch the paid theme store soon. Liked many of the premium themes.[DOUBLEPOST=1406270062][/DOUBLEPOST]
I found many themes missing compared to the free ones on the MIUI running on my Spice Coolpad.
Check the MIUI forums. Many themes there.

Use Mi Themes module in WSM Tools. U can download any themes(though not very legal). This module is developed by the developer of WSM. U can find it in his website.

The best themes are the free ones. Eg: MI OS, Edgy HD (sideload these themes. to use them i think you need mi-tools installed. Else they will not work since they are not downloaded from the market). I always keep switching between these 2. Have found nothing better despite installing more than a ton of themes.

U can also find a lot of themes at 4pda.

Hmm.. Dunno mate. I'm guessing this error is showing on the phone. Did you gave the portal a whirl ?

MIUI on other devices is different than Xiaomi. Here they've controlled both the software and hardware. And no chinese stuff anywhere. Even in the supplied manual it says Xiaomi India ! Was surprised.[DOUBLEPOST=1406228879][/DOUBLEPOST]Also 1 quirk (at least for me) - It's a pain in the ass to change default apps. I use Link Bubble quite extensively (true multitasking on Android), but there's no way to set it as the default browser on Mi3. It does not ask us to chose between apps when opening links. Whatever you do, the default browser WILL intercept the link. Bright side is the default browser is pretty light on resources and fast.
tried complete action plus(xposed module)?

Thanks. I do have MiThemes installed. And yeah, I can install MTZ files (the free ones; haven't tried any paid ones).

No. But I think this will work if MIUI allows us to pick an app. By default, it did not show any app options. Just the MIUI browser was used (even after changing the default one to Javelin).
Anyway, will give it a whirl. Danke ! :)

It allows you to download everything. Free and Paid alike.

Can't you install Theamer or some similar app? Also can we put custom rom by removing MIUI
MIUI themes theme the complete systemui i.e icons, status bar, dialer, messaging app, launcher etc. Themer is only a homescreen modification app and not a very good one at that. It is a replica of buzz launcher which is much better.

As of now, no custom roms can be installed because Xiaomi is yet to release the source. But with its increasing popularity, custom roms might pop in the near future.

Download from where ? :/

As @killmastern3 posted, the amount of customization MIUI lets you do (specially with MiTools installed) is much much more than any other launcher out there. One can also combine specific features of theme packs (say LS style of one, icon pack of another, font from a 3rd one etc.). It's brilliant !

I guess its chrome issue, latest update causing serious performance issue and i had to use opera. This is in note2 and s4+!
Nope. I'm on stable Chrome and the default MIUI browser is still faster. Equal to Javelin, but better UI. If only it supported the stacks feature. :/

So this is my battery life after 3 days of use:

OST was around 5 hours. Plus 2 hours of call. Some 20 mins of gaming. Wi-Fi/3G always on. Balanced mode.
How much are you guys getting out of Mi3 ?

@alekhkhanna how did you change the operator name into logo, any zepplin like tweak?
the phone charges at slow rate, the charger provided rated at 5V-2A.
phone gets heated during charge never had these behaviour before on my iphone, G2 and HOX.
btw, any luck getting link bubble to work?

will post a mini review for those seeking mi3 on next sale soon...

wrong post deleted[DOUBLEPOST=1406478842][/DOUBLEPOST]The phone takes 2 and a half to 3 hours to do a 0% - 100% charge on the original adapter.
Heating: It gets warm a little, I guess that is normal for other phones too!

Mi-Tools. Rooted via CWM and SU. Then installed WSM (which then downloads and installs Xposed; you just need to give root permissions. Then search and download Mi-tools. Highly recommended). There's a post in here somewhere (or in the original Mi3 thread) I made for installing CWM and rooting and installing Mi-tools, with links.
Got Link Bubble to work after I froze the default MIUI browser with Titanium Backup. But I think you can just disable the browser from "App -> Browser -> Disable (lower middle)". However, do check out Javelin. It has this new stacks features which is awfully similar to Link Bubble, but much better. Where LB scores is the ease of sharing with simple flicks.

Yeah. ~2 and a half hours for a full charge. Is just a tad higher than Moto G too (which has a ~2100 mAh battery). I charge using the Power bank mostly and it never heats up. Also charged once using Samsung's 2A charger, never heated.

the time for the next sale is 2 pm. All along I thought it was 12 pm
All the best ! :)
