English TV series discussion

Saw the Boardwalk empire finale last night, although the season felt rushed they provided a satisfying conclusion. Makes you wanna re-watch the first 2 seasons again since the characters are more fleshed out after the backstory. Truly a gem of a show.

Me too :) .Some people here are much prejudiced against this series. It has a great ensemble case consisting of the great Robert Carlyle, Lana Parilla, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jen Morrison.

May be it is of the "Fantasy" genre, some people do not like it. But then I like some of these Fantasy series. Supernatural is another.
Best part of "Once Upon a Time" for me is that, so many of my memories about fairy tales characters is getting revived.

Guys as per the tv show tracker app I have in my phone, it says "The Killing (US)" has ended with only 6 episodes of season 4. I haven't procured It fully yet. Is it abruptly ended or cancelled or something, because if yes then I would not really want to watch the series.

The Killing was cancelled after Season 3 by AMC. Netflix picked it up for a fourth season, and released a 6 episode 4th season. It is designed as a complete season and the episodes are longer than the episodes in the previous seasons as well.

Have you watched the Danish version? My roommate has been raving about it.

It's slow. But that doesn't necessarily translate into bad; but for many it does over here. I myself was not too enthused by the show's first season except for the acting and overall production values. The second season though is much much better and has a certain pace to it. I would recommend this show if, and only if, you have the patience to sit through a plot that is character driven for the most part. Do not touch this if you are looking for thrills, twists, jaw-dropping moments, and stuff like that. I've become a fan of the show since the second season though. It is very well done on all fronts.

The Danish version, as in the original series, is really awesome. I haven't watched the English versions yet, so my view might be prejudiced, but the acting and the script was top notch for Forbrydelsen.
 
Done with all seasons of Once upon a time (till season 3). Intend to watch season 4 only after it is complete. I hope these all series don't go in hiatus in between a season. I hate that. I have other series lined up to watch once their current seasons complete, like, Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead and couple of others. White collar is also starting / started.

Now watching Falling Skies.

All US based series have mid season hiatus. Any series not having one is on the axing block for sure.
