Hi,
I am connected by a wireless router at home by cat cable which gets internet from by neighbours wireless adsl. Things were fine until i resetted my router yesturday and changed a few settings. Before the connection use to work flawlessly. Now even though it shows connected to router it takes more then 5 min for internet to start.
I changed only the following settings.

1. Changed the ssid and opted to hide it.
2. In Lan option disabled dhcp. ( when i tried with dhcp on the connection was dead slow. )

Please suggest.

Why you masking the SSID when it would be password protected. Else keep MAC filtering on.

I dont want my other neighbours to see my wireless broadcast id. But if that would cause such a problem I can opt not to hide. Should i enter static ip ip in the wireless option in config page of wireless router ?

See what happens when the SSID is visible.

Why you fear if your neighbor or any xyz sees your ID?
He isnt gonna hacked unless you havent applied adequate security.WPA/WPA2.

It has started working normally again.
Here's what I changed according to your suggestions.
