Now that's a bummer :([DOUBLEPOST=1502955040][/DOUBLEPOST]Well I ordered a pair of cold cathodes from Amazon today. Now shipping time is quite long, lets see what happens.

Well I am having some weird things happening, not sure if this is due to rams, sometimes my motherboard lan port is not working, a restart fixes the issue though, any idea what is going on?
 
I read on reddit that Asus ROG Strix B350 Gaming has this issue aswell and some ppl were able to fix it by updating the BIOS.
 
Well not facing the problem for last 3-4 days, God knows what's happening. Anyway, I received my cold cathode tubes today from Amazon. I cannot say great packaging but at least none are broken. Also, got those early as the estimated delivery date was 6 September.
 
How much difference would a C17 vs C16 RAM make with the Ryzen ? CL16 ram was out of stock ,so had to settle with 8GB CL17. 2400MHZ GSkill Ripjaws V.

And I have my Ripjaws Gskill up for sale 2400 Mhz 8 gb for so long. Anyway, I doubt if you get any practical speed improvement in day to day life, let others post their views.

Yeah, with 2 added cores, i5 8600k would really give R5 1600/1600X a run for their money. Intel has quoted that 8600k would perform more than 50percent better than 7600k in multi-threaded performance and i believe that would be the case.

And people cant deny the fact that the 8600k would perform great in games due to the IPC advantage over AMD processors.

We know that Intel has a winner on their hand, the only thing left for Intel to do is, price the processor right. If they price the processor anywhere between 220-230 dollars, AMD would start feeling the heat and may think they are in trouble once again. If they price the processor in the range of $250. That would defeat the whole purpose of launching a 6core processor (people would again think that money hungry Intel is again charging more for the extra performance) and people would prefer paying $20 more to get R7 1700 (the price of this processor falls to this level every now and then).

Edit : i5 8600k wouldnt come with HSF, so people would anyways have to shell out $20 or more for a decent enough air cooler and R7 1700 comes with a decent HSF, so i dont see a reason why anybody would go with 8600k which would definately not be able to match R7 1700 in multi-threaded performance :).

Its a wait and watch game now. :)

Yes precisely my thoughts, good point about the coolers, but I wouldn't mind paying $20 for cooling, if the pricing matches 1600. I would hesitantly purchase the Intel processor.

Oh i forgot to mention one thing :p, 8600K has an advantage over 1600/1600X CPUs.

8600K would be featuring an IGP which would be capable enough of decoding 4k at 60FPS.

IGP really comes in handy to troubleshoot discrete GPUs and to run hackintosh (Final Cut Pro takes advantage of Quicksync to accelerate video rendering) :)

Have you folks seen the latest Linux problem update - seems AMD has been able to repro/confirm the Linux "SEGV" (segmentation fault / sudden reboot) and is working with customers on an individual basis for RMA apparently. The replacement CPUs fix the issue and AMD promises to improve their Linux quality testing going forward.

Gawd, I also seem to be facing these sudden reboot very rarely on Linux, wondering how the RMA experience will be for me from here in Pune.

But first I'll try BIOS update for my mobo, even though AMD confirms it's not mobo related.
