You can use a noctua if you wish with AM3 and its own backplate. However removing the stock backplate on the CH6 is a bit of a pain as it is glued. I had to use my wife's hair dryer and a thin knife to pry it out slowly.

I use a Deepcool Captain 240 EX AIO. I just received the AM4 bracket. I was using the AM3 mounting holes all this while.

Too much of a hassle then.

Now I regret getting the Elite 430 in 2010 as it doesn't support 240 mm watercoolers.

It is difficult to change cases at this point of time.

Ordered the Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 from newegg for 4.9k.

Wanted to clarify a thing. I have a bootable pen drive for Window 10 pro. Can I keep the bios update in same drive and perform using UEFI? Or I need a new fresh pen drive?

It's better to use a blank pen drive. You can always use media creation tool to make the pen drive bootable again. Format the pen drive and put in the BIOS file.
Keep in mind it should be a single FAT 16/32 partition

Well clearing cmos and resetting ram in a2 dimm slot allowed me to boot again successfully I have changed speed to 2133 again voltage 1.2. One thing I noticed that if I set to 2400 voltage getting to 1.35. But according to spd info for the ram 1.2 should be enough for 2400. Will try to manually set ram voltage. Also bios update still pending

There is a cycle of leds for ram on board previously I never saw red light in cycle but now I can see red blinking but for a couple of seconds max then green coming on. Is it normal?

Also pity that this board has no clear cmos button, has to manually sort pins to get job done

As long as the PC boots up fine, no need to worry about debug LEDs. As for voltage, you can drop it and see if it is stable. Most ram anyways won't complain with 1.35-1.4v. Anything more isn't recommended.

Thanks for replying @Chaos, I have already set the ram to 2133 MHz and its now @ 1.2 volts. I will update bios and see if anything comes up worthy enough

I just stumbled upon this thread on http://www.overclock.net/t/1634764/bios-mod-asus-rog-b350-f-strix.

According to this thread, Asus has now enabled P-State overclocking option by default in the latest bios for ROG Strix B350-F Gaming Motherboard. Yipee .

Now this board i guess would really become the first choice for people who are interested in overclocking their Ryzen CPU but are on a budget.

The thing that was making me hesitant to bite the bullet has now been fixed by Asus.

Ez flash is a piece of cake. Never did bios update before but did not face any trouble at all

Btw saw a post that version 0809 was running 32 gb ram 4 slots at 3200 mhz but 0810 ruined it.

I wanted suggestions for an issue that I'm currently facing

I have 2 sticks both CMK16GX4M1A2400C16, on is ver 3.31 and other one is ver 5.30, not problem as you can see from the SPD images, one shows up as 2133 and other as 2400 in BIOS, I can run both at 2133 without any issue, I can even enable DOCP and it will all at 2400, I wanted to know, so when I enable DOCP, is it overclocking the 2133 to run at 2400, on the memory it shows the timings as 2400 16-16-16-39 for both of them

Anything above the jedec spec of 2133 is technically over clocking so ymmv.

I do not plan to overclock neither the memory or cpu so it would make sense to run all of them at 2133, so the 2400 will also run at lower timings, so strange, from outside the box both showed 2400 16-16-16-39

If ram is rated at 2400 by the manufacturer why not run it at 2400. Especially knowing how ram clock controls the infinity fabric clock.

I'm sorry to pester you but as you can see it's showing 2400 16-16-16-39 on the RAM however if you see the spd they are at 1066 for one set and 1200 for another, and if set at auto, it runs at 2133, and if I set it to 2400 it won't boot, unless I set it to DOCP which puts it at 2400, since it makes some to other changes as well to the timings

Are you noticing any stability issues with DOCP 2400? If you are, then go back to 2133. If not, let it be at 2400. Just make sure the timings are 16-16-16-39-55

Perfect, yesterday night set the CPU to 30, set the RAM to DOCP so it automatically did

DRAM -> 1.2
CAS -> 16
TRCDRD 16
TRCDWD 16
RAS PRE 16
RAS ACT 16

so now RAM is running at 2400 at 16-16-16-39 at the rated speed for both sticks, let it run overnight, no issues will try and run memtest as well later just to be sure. Thank a lot @Chaos

Just set up my Ryzen today and getting a 0d error code on my Crosshair VI Hero.Internet seems to suggest RAM might be an issue.Trying with all RAM slots now.
Damn it AMD.

Fixed it.The issue was that the GPU was not seated properly.

Damn me...[DOUBLEPOST=1502799575][/DOUBLEPOST]@Chaos this mobo has more stuff than I know what to do with...Jeez the UEFI is overwhelming[DOUBLEPOST=1502803157][/DOUBLEPOST]Just set the DRAM voltage to 1.35V ,RAM frequency to 3200 MHz and manually entered the timings as 14-14-14-14-34 and bam the RAM is working at 3200 MHz.

This turned out to be too easy compared to what i expected.
Hope this works in the long run

^^Just make sure you are on the 1403 or later bios. With samsung ram, yes it is that easy. Unfortunately I do not have samsung ram .

Edit: Change your tRC manually to 48 (tRP+tRAS). The difference between the stock tRC(73 in that screenshot) to 48 is going to be massive! Easily 2-3% fps improvement in games.

I'm running 1&3. However it doesn't matter! You can use 2&4 as well. Major issues still exist with dual rank modules. With single rank like yours, things will be silky smooth.
