I benefitted due to GST.
Got mudra loan for my brother which skyrocketed my ecom business!
Digital push turned up by ecom business by 300% in which earlier it was 70% cod 30% prepaid!
Now it's 30% cod and 70% prepaid!
Saved a lot of money on my parcels as GST refunds is a breeze!
My workers got the free gas connection and one of them got an house loan under the scheme for very low interest!
Home Interest rates were 13.10% ( Was a special case )
Now it's 8.70 or something! I have more to say but not ample time to!

Most small businesses have only horror stories to tell about gst. it's the big companies that have really benefited. my bro who has a civil engg business is losing a bit compared to before. Eventually took the composition scheme because it was too much for a single person to manage. But then he wont get good contracts because the customers wont get refunds from a comp scheme supplier. a close friend started a loan assistance agency after demon... because he thought a lot of people would take loans due to the reduced rates and belief in acche din. he lost a lot of money and time when he had to shut down after a year. plenty on the negative side too is what i'm getting at.

about the violence, yeah, i haven't seen anything myself either. that's because i live in a safe and relatively progressive and cosmopolitan city. that doesn't mean all the stories out there are fake news. a fcking cop was lynched FFS. it's not easy to have a wide perspective on things especially if you follow indian media. i dont watch the news nor read the papers. i find the articles and usually double check anything that seems off, whether positive or negative. the one whatsapp group i was in before i quit, i was the unofficial news validator. whatsapp groups are another source of cancer.

you're not seriously saying that for all these decades people weren't getting gas legally. since i was a kid we've had gas home delivered and we were a pretty poor family. lower middle class at most.

as i was saying in the trai thread, it took cable tv crap to wake people up. and if this is the only negative thing you can see in the current regime, then sadly, you've missed a lot, your positive experiences notwithstanding.

as with most things, this isn't black and white, way too many grey shades. but the way i try to predict things is look at a person's character or whatever you can see of it. it's virtually impossible for an inherently bad person to do good things. so that all you need to know when people tell you things like acche din etc. Yeah people can change, but at the core, not usually...

What these morons don't realise is that the very freedom and democracy they now have (whatever little) is due to the blood and sacrifice of real freedom fighters who understood the true value, meaning and necessity of freedom and democracy. Unlike their favoured party which actually opposed the freedom struggle, sided with the brits and even murdered the mahatma. It's very easy for them to defend their supreme leader while criticizing proponents of freedom sitting in the comfort and luxury of their homes.

Can you explain how a self proclaimed Chai wala amassed assets worth crores of rupees? Do you even know that has assets worth crores even just going by his own signed election affidavit? Have you ever even tried to look into it. These affidavits are not even given honestly and show a fraction of the assets they have. Also, corruption is not just about money. Abuse of power is also corruption.

Modi is also not the kind of person who would let his family benefit from him. He is the kind who uses other people. He would use his own mother for his own aspirations.

Quite a number of people got killed in new forms of terrorism which originated and encouraged only after BJP came into power. The problem with you people is that you need to lose somebody in your own family to realize that. You are thick skinned to the suffering of others. Every time somebody says something about the falling tolerance or increase in communal violence, people like you rush to attack them and prove them right.

If things go on like this, forget insurgency in Kashmir, there will be other forms of insurgency in rest of the country pretty soon to deal with.

Absolutely yes. Unlike most people, I pay my taxes without skimping even a paisa, but have nothing to show for all the taxes I pay. Most people with the same salary don't even pay half the taxes I pay by using fake receipts and all other forms of tax evasion. They are the people who support corrupt political parties. A corrupt govt will only be supported by people who are corrupted themselves. People like me don't like any corrupt govt be it of congress or BJP.

What exactly has he done for the country? Me and crores of other people would like to know. Other than spending 1000s of crores on statues and crores on using the office of PM as a travel agency. Obviously in revenge to being BANNED from visiting other countries due to human rights atrocities in his home town which you mentioned earlier. You may be blind but the whole world was and is watching. And family members? He's definitely paid back his cronies ambani and adani etc. for sponsoring his election campaign. When i was a child i was taught not to be selfish. I was also taught "all indians are my brothers and sisters". This goes from kashmir to kanyakumari. Including you. Well, before bjp, i was paying 12.36% indirect taxes. They increased straightaway it to 14%. Then added sbc and kkc to make it 15%. bharat is still as un-swacch as before and kisaans are still killing themselves. so obviously they just used that to fill their pockets. But that wasn't enough for them. They came out with gst which sharply increased taxes on everything. all the way up to 28%. Average is still above 15% even now. And petrol, when crude was falling to lowest levels in years, they kept increasing taxes and took the retail price to above 90. Since they came into power by accusing the congress of scams, the only way they could make money is by all these crooked 'lawful' methods. Change the (tax) laws to make money. So yeah, they took my money, from my pockets to fill theirs. At least the previous govt didn't stoop to that level, scams or whatever.

We have over two million Indians in Saudi who remit several billions annually. They provide 20% of our oil. Saudis are looking to invest in India. We want to build a strategic oil reserve. Also some refineries.

Modi brought in $59 billion in FDI last year. In fact FDI has been steadily increasing since he became PM. Same thing he did as Gujarat CM. They'd hold these investor meets every year. The criteria for success was if they could get just 10% of attendees to commit. Amazing.

So all those trips abroad and hugs are paying off :)

Turkey suffered a coup. So there was a purge. Instead of torturing/killing the word you want to use is jailing. Erdogan has jailed many journalists. So its kinda hollow when Turkey stands up for Kashoggi but they are doing it because they want to be leader of the muslim world. They want MBS out.

Phillipines has a severe law & order problem brought on by drugs. This is why you have a former cop running the place. No torture. Outright kills with no questions asked.

Brazil, btw is in the same boat. More people die in Brazil than in Afghanistan & Syria combined. In comes Bolsonaro.

Compared to these three countries, India seems like an ocean of tranquility with most things working.

Now, as to your question. Before he came to power this was the scare story put up. We are at the end of five years.

Has the worst come to pass ? no.

So why should it happen should he get another term ?

That statement is just one part. At around 6:30 he directly asks the bored out of their minds people (who are so zoned out they wont even clap) what should be done to people who talk negative about the engineers who made the train. No answer from people. So he just straight up tells them, such people should be punished for thinking negatively and mocking the people who worked hard on that train.

Why? Its true that the train was made in India and its true that it broke down twice before its trial run. it means somewhere some corners were cut to speed up the production or something got overlooked. Naturally people will laugh at the company making it when the train cant even do 40KM speeds without breaking down when its touted to do 200KM. Just shows the quality of the train and the company that made it.

Just because people mock engineers does not mean they should be punished. And this PM post is the highest post in the country. Do you thing anyone holding that post should talk such petty stuff as jailing people for mocking on facebook or other sites? It just shows how petty he can get. He should have just shut up and ignored such people and instead said, even though people are mocking the engineers, i am hopeful that the engineers will show those mocking them that India is not far behind in technology and build a better train than this one in coming years. Guy himself is negative and talks about punishing negative people. ironic.
