The thinking is JDS will be weaker after these elections. The gowdas are a bit nervous and 3 generations are running which makes others think they want it all for themselves. Does JDS getting weaker mean those seats go to Congress ? We will see.
It needs to be repeated over and over again that Congress losing isn't because of BJP winning but because Congress positions have been copied by regionals. THe decline of Congress is more due to these regionals than rise of BJP. Take those three states we had recently. MP, Rajasthan & Chattisgarh. Only National parties there, no local ones of any note. Balance is fairly even isn't it.

Two months ago this coalition had a chance but they are not working together. They cannot agree on seat sharing. There is no big leader that can go around and mend these differences. They want to stick to their positions and come together after the poll. On a state level this might work and has but national is different.
