Budget 15-20K Is the Poco X2 any good?

Hi forum,

So I've saved up for a new phone and my Mi A2 has been lagging more than usual recently. I need a big battery, stable software, fast charging, and decent call clarity on my next phone. I don't want the Motorola Fusion+, I'm through with Stock Android. I'd buy a Samsung phone but they keep trolling with the low-end chipset.

I was considering the Poco X2 but read about the battery drain issues in the Flipkart review section. I also don't know how buggy, laggy, or unstable the software is in use... Can someone with the phone give their informed opinion?

All other recommendations welcome.

Thanks! :D

I ordered M31 for my uncle last week. I just disabled samsung store notifications and gave it to him. he only uses it for whatsapp and videos so its fine.

but for power user, Id recommend poco x2 or redmi k 20 pro for 22k after offers

I was nearly in the same boat as you and was very near to ordering the M21(didn't need the slightly better camera on M31) but the processor on these phones is just too weak and it's even weaker than the processor on my 2.5 yr old Honor View 10. This made me turn to other offerings in the price bracket with Snapdragon processors. I picked up the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max because of my specific requirements and because I couldn't grab the M2 Pro during the flash sale but you can also take a look at Realme 6 Pro as well.

Thank you everyone for your responses! Super helpful!

After some more research and deliberation, and speaking to half a dozen friends about it, I think the Samsung M31 (6GB/128GB) is right for me... I don't game much, maybe a few games of CoD a month with a friend, and mostly do banking, reading, and email. The software, screen, and battery are great and from what I've gathered, the software shouldn't give me issues like my last two Mi phones did.

The 64MP camera is sufficiently future-proof.

I wanted to ask @nRiTeCh, @NAV33N, @swapyworld, @bigbyte, @adventureguy, and all other members if they've used the M31 and what their thoughts are. The 6/128 variant will go for ~Rs. 15,750 after using bank offer on prime day. Do you think this is a good price?

Leave your thoughts in the thread. Thank you again! This is the best forum EVER!
I would say it's a good choice, for all people claiming about processor, please see the benchmarks and gaming videos on youtube, it may not run PUBG at very high settings but apart from that sAmoled display, software experience and battery backup is way better with occasional gaming. Sorry for the delayed reply. let us know which one you picked @KrishT

I went for the M31 after all... Sorry didn't respond, didn't have a phone, haha.

You're right about the processor speed - I don't know what standards newer processors like the 720G are setting, but upgrading from the SD660, I'm really happy with its performance. I don't play games, so it doesn' matter much to me.

Software and battery life are solid, and the screen is the best I've ever used.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! Cheers!

I am using M31 from last month. There are some negatives like -
1. Poor wifi roaming.
2. Slightly laggy.
3. No samsung knox.
2. No inbuilt app to add password to apps.

1. M31 doesn't switch to stronger wifi network in case you have multiple access points.
3. Its a security platform for samsung phones but it is not available for budget phones.
1. Could be device specific or software bug which could be resolved. I have used in past Samsung galaxy SL, note 2 and Note 3 without any such issues
3. For knox, i would say it used to be headache back then but seeing M31 at XDA now without developers is painful. I never personally cared for KNOX back then and i doubt even now anyone on XDA. anyone can buy kIS for less than INR 100 if concerned about security.

Actually its not a hardware bug and there is a option in Wifi settings which helps in switching to the stronger networks but you have to keep mobile data on for that to work. It used to be very seamless on Zenfone 5z.

It's not laggy.. it's just the animations.. you can tone it down..

Granted I'm not a heavy user..
It is not as snappy as Zenfone 5z. There is framerate drops when switching between apps. Most of the time this phone works fine.

You can't compare SD 845 with exynos 9611 :D then you should also compare their launch prices !!
Anyways OP has already bought the phone !!
