Android OnePlus Nord is a "budget phone"

I was thinking of posting about the clover, now they're calling entry level 15k.

Wonder what does that make the 10k segment? Dirt?

^entry-level for the brand just like they call the SE an entry-level iphone.

That's why i'm saying oneplus have lost the plot.

After all the vfm crap now they think they're big enough to pull off an Apple...

If you're expecting a sub 10k OP device it ain't gonna happen, it will eventually be rebadged as a Vivo or Realme product but they won't dilute their own brand. They know they can charge a small premium for OxygenOS on entry level hardware and get away with it.

After all the vfm crap now they think they're big enough to pull off an Apple...

Pull off ? They already beat Apple with their marketing gimmicks by getting people to pay for the reveal event.

I don't want a cheap OP phone. I'm just annoyed that their redefining the midrange (and now entry-level) segment pricing will end up making other brands follow suit. Especially because OP was once considered vfm.

...getting people to pay for the reveal event.

Now that's just a whole other level of stupidity. Not OP's fault, it's darwin's...

p.s. what i DO want is a 5" or under 140mm length phone that doesn't cost 40k+ *cough* s10e *cough*

I work with one of the largest media house of India ( top 2 ) dont wanna name which media house. These one plus guys want us to write articles and brand them is such a way its completely favorable. This has been problem with all chinese brands . If you are ready to lick their feet, they will give you review units business as well. So dont go by all those stupid reviewers who open dabbas and take you through specs which is on backside of side of the box.

Not an iOS person and the 4a is still under-specced and overpriced for the spec.

After my Redmi 4 screen broke, i got an asus 5z, which was smaller than a lot of the other options and sd845/8/256 at 17.5k. it still doesn't fit in my pockets comfortably and i would love a smaller size.

Kudos to Samsung for starting this giant, monsterous, not-one-hand-phone. I get it, media consumption is best in big screen, but then not all of them purchase phones for media consumption alone. How about giving consumers some options??
My Asus ZenFone 2 laser was still large at 5.5" it was easily flicked by my friend. So while shopping for pants, I also need to consider depth of my pocket(which would never be the criteria).
And Samsung is not stopping. Saw in one of the reviews with screen size beyond 6.5". That's massive. Add to it the weight of the phone which puts strain on your palms.

Yup, its overpriced here but for ₹35k (expected price) you don't get a better camera than that.

And its not so under-specced to reject outright. I have a Poco F1 with SD845 on LineageOS. My mum has Note 5 pro with SD625 on MIUI and my sis has Realme X with SD 710 on RealmeUI and for day to day tasks, I don't find any difference among the three devices. And 4a has SD730, which should be okay too.

Every phone has its shortcomings, one has to chose which shortcomings we can live with. I can manage with okayish performance, for that crazy good camera, stock pixel rom and the cute design.

Cam is actually one of the least important parameters for me in a phone. My redmi4 was perfectly adequate for my needs and it was ultra low specced. Thing is, when i'm buying a new phone i want a good spec for a reasonable price, which is not unrealistic today, except from google. And maybe OP now. Oh and the single sim is a deal-breaker.

For now i'm ok with the 5z, but will most probably upgrade (downgrade?) as soon as a smaller, well-specced and priced phone comes out. Which is probably never. Current phones have gone beyond phablet to small-tablet size and there seems to be no end to the size madness.

Samsung? Not following.

Trousers are kinda ok, it's jeans that are trouble. Sometime in the last two decades they decided than even men should wear low waist jeans like chicks, and that too with tiny pockets...

Regarding jeans, stick to 501s mate. Using them for last 10-12 years. I just buy 2 pairs every 2-3 years ( raw, not pre washed), cheap, comfortable, large enough pockets and most importantly not low waist.

I've never had much success with Levi's fit. Wrangler skanders on the other hand fit perfectly. Except for the pockets due to the low waist. Not sure if I've tried the 501. I have only one pair of Levi's now, will check what model it is. Weather here is overall too crap for jeans though anyway.

I mostly just use these for everyday casual use. Cheap and ultra comfortable. Dunno if it's a bit chavvy but i don't care.
