Corona virus

10 lakh dead worldwide. 2 lakhs in the USA and 1 lakh in india. And this is obviously not counting the deaths not attributed to covid. Like a cardiac arrest passed off as just that, without testing for covid.

Sure, it pales in comparison to the usual death stats, but it's not nothing either.

Is it advisable to board flights right now to attend a wedding? And will movie theatres start right from October 15 as per the new guidelines? Can we expect to watch Christopher Nolan's TENET?

Yea you should be fine if you're a healthy individual under the age of 50, the virus is so deadly you need to get a test to know whether you've got it after all :p
As for the movies, as much as I want to watch Tenet there's no way I'm sitting with a mask on for 2 and a half hours.

Some people may not agree with me but like with a lot of rules in our country which don't make sense sometimes you have to use your discretion and common sense.

The virus itself is NOT airborne, as in it's not transmitted through the air freely without a carrier shedding nearby.

So when go out for a walk etc and there's no one nearby, i wear it on my mouth and keep my nose getting fresh oxygen lol. As soon as see a person nearing my proximity i pull it over my nose. This helps with compliance. Besides if a person with heavy shedding coughs right in your face for example, a regular mask isn't going to save you 100%

I try to avoid using sanitizer as far as possible because it's a chemical and toxic at that. But i do practice extreme hand hygeine and this was way before the virus. At least the last decade or two. For example, ever noticed in a public bathroom in a mall or something, how many people actually wash their hands after handling their junk? So i try not to touch surfaces with my hands and either wait for someone to open the doors or use my elbow or a tissue. Knuckles instead of fingertips on elevator buttons etc. And I've always washed my hands with soap very often, some might say excessively so. If my hands feel greasy or dusty, which is quite often in our country, i wash with soap first chance i get.

The malls require all visitors to wear gloves. I can't understand how wearing the same pair of gloves through a whole session is any kind of protection. Someone please explain what I'm missing here. Also the staff at the checkout counter wearing the same pair of gloves their entire shift, handling dozens of customers.

Is it advisable to be cozy with girlfriend?
Sure, I went down all the way with a positive person. You may discover newer routes of transmission.
Seriously this has been a major problem here. A group of idiots spread a rumor that if you have sex outdoors, the chance of transmission is minimal.
I live at the border of the city with plenty of small green areas around ( basically small, non dense jungles, grasslands in-between) and I usually go there early in the morning with the dogs and let the dogs run around in the jungles ( it's very safe, fox, rabbits etc.) while I run along the border.
Couple of weeks back the dogs started barking abnormally ( all 4 of them) and it scared the shit out of me ( I have heard about bears in deeper parts of the jungles but never ever seen one)
Went inside just to find out a young couple making out outside their tents ( camping out is very common during summer here and the dogs are familiar with tents) It was such an embarrassing situation for everyone ( thankfully they were strangers)
Similar thing happened again last week. Now I don't let the dogs enter the jungle and make them run with me.
Really feel bad for these kids. This pandemic wiped out a golden year of dorm life and associated activities, no parties...no night outs..what will they do?
This country has gone through a huge cultural change, most of the parents of teenagers still don't approve of things that high schools allow.
It's a major problem that nobody here talks about.

One thing the lockdown has done is make everyone VERY horny. Only problem is, sex is a very easy route of transmission (nasal/oral droplets, not the sex itself). But i don't think anyone on the planet would screw while wearing a mask etc. lol

Also, details on your dogs and pics if possible please.

Just came across this. If you ask me, people need to stop trying to get back to the old 'normal', which itself was a terrible path the planet was heading down. Instead we need to adapt to this new normal and learn how to actually live. Acceptance is the key to solving so many of our issues, social/psychological/societal/environmental etc.

From what I've been told wearing mask is effective in containing the spread of the virus to others, rather than self protection.
Exactly, a mask can contain a sneeze or a cough from spreading to some extent, but if someone sneezes or coughs without a mask in front of your face and you're wearing a mask it's not going to be nearly as effective.

Which is why everyone wearing a mask is the safe option, so even the asymptomatics are contained from spreading.

Three of my relatives got positive. Only one person's test came positive at start. One, a vulnerable patient, got discharged after he was admitted for few days in hosp for congestion though still not tested positive, died a few days later. Was tested positve post death along with other relative. Didn't get all details like what test, but even antigen test is accurate in positive case. This is in TN

Suddenly from past 2-3 days I just cannot taste any salt in food. I usually put 1 tiny pinch of salt and haven't increased it in years. Can't taste salt in store bought stuff too. I tried to taste a 1/4th amount of pinch of salt directly and even it felt like there was no salty taste in it. Bland and just very faint salt taste. Like just 10% of what I would taste if my taste buds were okay. Even spicy chilli powder seems to have lost its presence in my taste buds. I can smell deodorant and other smells. I can taste sugar well.

I searched the web and most of the people say it's burnt mouth syndrome or zinc deficiency in body. Could this be corona virus since many say they lost taste and smell before getting the virus?

But then, that would also apply to sugar right. You can taste sugar but not salt. Why don't you give the doc a visit?

I don't like visiting doc's. Big line and people with various ailments. Don't like visiting hospitals too for the same reason. I don't like such sad places.

Edit:
I can't taste toothpaste, coffee, or chewing gum. Can't smell eucalyptus oil also. I can smell fabric detergent and that comfort fabric softener. Really weird.

@red dragon any suggestions??
We know corona is good at playing games but this seems off the record.

Honestly no idea mate...but not being able to taste toothpaste / mint is really strange.
It can be Corona, but if no other symptoms, just stay at home for few days. Watch for weird looking rashes in toes, feet.
