Do you ever buy something extra just in case first one breaks in future and you have backup?

We all use things that, as per you is absolutely essential for your daily activity or even occasional use. We also many a times fear that if this particular thing breaks, you may probably never find same replacement. This fear may result in you buying a second of the same product (at the same time or later) just to keep as a backup for such scenarios.
So, do you have any such products which you took backup unit of or plan to do so (even before first one breaks) or regret not doing for something which is now broken?

Starting with me, I have following things...

  • Logitech M570 Trackball Wireless Mouse - After having carpel tunnel pain back in 2018, I shifted from a regular wireless mouse to trackball mouse and my pain almost instantly went away and I just cannot think of using any other mouse. Fortunately it is available still so I can buy one more but do regret not buying it back when I was in US and I could have got it for cheaper. i don't think it is available in India officially (or have similar alternatives). But since this is something I use almost 9+ Hours daily with office laptop, I am sure I won't mind getting one as backup.
  • Samsung Level U Bluetooth Earphones - For long hours office use for teams / skype calls, I don't like "In Ear Canal" bluetooth earphones. I was searching for something which isn't in ear completely and my quest ended with the Samsung Level U. I know this isn't highly rated earphones but it sufficed my 2 needs, not being in ear canal and had multi point. I have not even heard music on it yet. But with its excellent battery life enables me to be connected to my office laptop (I am on call for at least 2.5 - 3 Hours daily) and simultaneously to my tablet (I watch shows along with work when not on call).

Yes I have 2 x apc SMART ups, several wireless and gaming keyboard/ mouses, 2x fridges, 2x washing machines, 3 x ovens, 2x large lcd tv + 1x 32inch tv for back up and the list goes on. Atleast in the last 3 years itself, I have had atleast three of those appliance fail and some where out of action for a month waiting for parts.
Why I do this, because If something fails you may need atleast 24 to 48 hrs to get it fixed by a service technician which can extend to months if the parts need to be imported and because I fix everything myself in my spare time as a hobby. I need another one for back up and in Covid era its a must, just yesterday my whirlpool washing machine had a pop sound and a burning smell, already ordered a bunch of parts, which will take a months time to arrive from EU.
I also keep spare parts stock for my cars and 2 wheelers , which I also service them my self according to factory service manual.

There are literally soooo many things i wish i had bought extra of, just for backup/redundancy. Can't even begin to list them all out but one thing i want to mention is my redmi 4. it was the last (commonly available) 4gb ram phone under 140mm in size. Can't buy it now. Wish i had bought like 4 of them back then. Another is my targus wanderer backpack. still haven't found something that matches it. the list is endless. someone else mentioned on another thread old is gold. new stuff these days literally doesn't match up to older products. not talking about 40 year old sony tvs and kelvinator fridges. modern tech itself.

And before anyone mentions, the s10e (142mm) costs 50k so that ain't happening...

For me it's those super cheap packs of undershirts and socks.
Every time I am forced to go to the mall, before handing the card to the cashier drop few packs of them in the cart.

Earphones...ordered 2 more pairs of Tin T2. I'm only packing inexpensive minimal audio gears for Africa ( T2/PXC 550 II/ HD598)
T2s are really very non fatiguing. Hours of usage no problem. Very nice and under-rated feature if you ask me. BLON 03 are fun but dangerously fatiguing.

I wish I had bought two OnePlus 5T karbon bumper cases from OnePlus. Mine just broke and there aren't any decent cases available in the market now.

Yes, I'm scared of using the bl03 at night, it disturbs my sleep even with soothing music. It's such a lively IEM, makes me wanna dance.
