Nvidia RTX 3XXX Series announced

Sadness. I guess I was too hopeful about it then. I thought that maybe they would want to clear some old stock before new gen hits the market. They seem to be pretty confident about higher launch prices.
Price slashes in India is a myth. By the time you see end of product cycle. The sale prices come down to MSRP. Else high AF

I dont know if you watch the video during the RTX 3XXX event but it seemed that NVIDIA held back the RTX 2XXX Series. I am being as real as I can. Why is it that they woke up after AMD gives them a tight slap and correct the pricing. They could have done it on Day 1 of launch day in India.
I did watch it & I know RTX 2000 series performance was held back & they priced it high due to lack of competition & it showed in sales, that's why we are getting good pricing now. Coming back to your original point, "They should reduce it further by at least by 10 percent to 15 percent.", I don't see it happening. You are basically asking for RTX 2080Ti kind of performance at RTX 2060 kind of prices. Look at the global pricing, now Indian pricing is at par with US pricing & I don't see it coming down soon unless AMD has a winner & they price it correctly specially in India.

That news about the 3050/3060 I did read about it but didn't want to share as it was just a "rumour." Don't wanna get hopes too high hehe.
You guys say 3060 will be enough for 1080p but I'm leaning more towards 3070 for all that "oooooh baby nice" settings.

No US prices are without taxes. Different state different taxes. Unlike India with one uniform GST all over.

just for fun ;)

who is buying this o_O

LOL! 2060 for the price of a 3070. Has Asus gone mad?
They are charging extra for the naming. It's ROG, Strix, Evo, OC all in one card.

No one expected this price drop but it did happen. Just have to wait and watch when the actual samples are reviewed.

I think so too. Its like all their branding fused together into one massively overpriced product lol.
Jokes apart, but the current pricing makes me think that RTX 3060 will be priced under or around 35k. I am sure AMD will have a 6600xt too.

It might be even lower as there is supposedly a RTX 3060Ti variant as well which doesn't leave much price gap in between.

A RTX 3060 with 8GB VRAM & performance equivalent to a RTX 2080 at 30k would be an awesome deal!

Yepp, I feel so bad for my friend who bought a 2080 Super not like long ago. Maybe in December Last year. Then I have one more colleague and I asked him not to buy a 2080Ti which he bought in April and that too the Gaming Trio. I wonder how their faces will be now.

Yep exactly enjoy what you have and it’s an endless cycle of technological innovations and the pace has been pretty nice in this last few years, let’s see how is the next decade going to be wrt these innovations!

Well, there was a 1080ti. Every Nvidia buyer looks for a 1080ti, which gave 2 gen life span. But I don't think Nvidia will ever be doing another 1080ti level stuff, as AMD is closing up the gap, at least in gaming

Most people who buy high end hardware know what they are getting into, it's a pit of massive depreciation and early adopters are pretty much beta testers these days.
I think more and more people are realizing it's pointless to get hyped for a product at launch unless they are absolutely forced to do an upgrade to meet their requirements.
Product launches in the past 2-3 years have been plagued with major issues (driver issues, compatibility issues, overhyped misleading presentations and graphs, paper launches & availability issues, scalpers and local pricing, etc)
If you rushed to buy something based on blind fanboyism or made the irrational decision to purchase before the competition has shown all its cards you're going to end up suffering from buyer's remorse.

This. 1080Ti was a unicorn, best mileage out of any product ever released. It's probably the only product that appreciated in value months after launch and it's still a beast and fetches decent resale value, still envy those who bought it at launch.

To add to that, the later chips often have more overclocking/undervolting potential too as the node quality increases with time. It is almost always better to not buy at launch. I guess this time, buying things in the March-May 2021 timeframe will give the best ROI & longevity for both CPUs & GPUs.
