Audio Audiophile and gears

Me: Going through this thread and wondering why no charger with 1 Lakh + phones!
Also me: Very happy with Redmi Note 9 Pro max bought for around 7k after selling old phone on cashify and using some 3k Amazon coupons from dad's office.
Me though: Do I have a life? Why don't I like expensive phones?
Also you - An audiophile. Nuff said :p
Being an audiophile is the most expensive hobby of all.

Worse than H...I've experienced both, Audiophilia is the most slippery slope to bankruptcy.
I will think 100 times before buying a1000 EUR phone ( and will return it..) but happily spend more for the latest and greatest amp DAC and another pair of crazy expensive open back headphones fully knowing it won't sound any better than the LCD X ( beside having at least 10 pairs of similar sounding cans.
In fact was searching online for a DAP with Android 8 which is pretty close to 1k...

It's only during the lockdown I actually could listen to all of my open back cans accumulated over last 5-6 years and I bought them like crazy ( used market...the younger generation was selling off great cans for wireless rubbish)
At one point I didn't have any space left to store them...then the wireless curiosity came...bought all the popular ones ( returned them all except the PXC 550 II)
However I've managed to get rid of most of them. But may relapse any day...

So tell us. Which IEM/headphone is the best bang for buck for melodious musical type listening .. like a good all rounder.

On budget...blon bl03...always makes you smile... headphones...mmmm...Sundara...yes, Sundara, I like the old HD598 also.
Insane budget...LCD X, IEM...not sure...IE40 pro is enough for me.
Wireless..only one option for music...PXC 550 II..PERIOD...Nothing is going to change my mind on the wireless headphones, tried them all... everything is shitty, 550 least shitty..
For price
IEM- bl03 ( nothing comes close)
Open cans- 560s/58x ( contrary to reviews they sound very similar to my ears) honestly I find HD 5XX series better than 6XX.
Closed cans- the good old M40X or the Meze 99 classic ( too much bass in both)

Sorry, never had an opportunity to try them. But heard good things. I have stopped buying IEMs with non detachable cables for years now. Hifiman RE 400 was my last last non detachable cable IEM. A GREAT IEM with terrible build quality.
I've read the same. RE400 build quality issues. That is prolly why they have a new 2020 version. I hope Sundara has no issues. Seems to be very high on recommendations everywhere as good planars.
what's your opinion on the Soundmagic e10c?
Don't bother with it. Get the BLON03.
Trust is hard to come by and I stopped trusting apple the day they deliberately slowed down their older phones with their updates to force people to buy new ones.
Samsung seems to be taking the same lane. First audio jack and now this.
Trust is a very funny word (to me). Everything is circumstantial.

Glad I got 2 of these (BLON03 and M40x) from your list and very happy with them. M40x really needs aftermarket pads and stuff but they sound better than the old ATH M50.
Me again: Realizing I only use my monitors these days ... maybe due to lockdown.

If you can afford to use speakers on a daily basis, nothing like it mate!! Unfortunately I can't, most of the time ( except while mixing...)

This only..

and this:

Topping D30Pro Review (Balanced DAC)

I don’t like active speakers for 2 reasons mainly, first they pack all the electronics inside so there are more chances of failures and secondly we can’t upgrade it’s amplifier at later stages. Also I don’t think any active speaker can sound remotely close to properly amped passive one.

Active speakers are not real speakers imho.

how did you came to this conclusion? Iam gonna sell my hd599 and save for speakers. My active options are edifier s350db ,s1000mkii, jbl 305mk but i get only good passive speakers in that price range, have to spend extra for amp

You know all high end speakers are passive right, active speakers are not bad but they are good for strict budgets only. Don’t take this personally.

Anyone have corsair sp2500? my friend sent me these because he switched to some crazy wireless speakers called “definitive technology” that he wanted to put in his toilet.his loss!
playing doom eternal with full volume on sp2500 is “glorious”

Most of the music production is done on active monitors. Some of them cost lakhs.

Out of these the JBL 305MII is the best hands down. 23k for a pair. No brainer. I had the Swans M50W 2.1 with a good sub, when I upgraded to monitors I was thinking I wasted a decade spending money on 5.1s/2.1/ AVRs and all I needed was a pair of monitors on my desk!

does the jbl hiss?

does the jbl hiss?
Yes. Only the Adams AX series don't hiss in the budget list. The hiss can be problem for many, I barely notice it. Mine are 1 meter away from me. In fact I got to know they hiss reading posts of nitpicking folks online lol. For some it is a deal breaker. I can barely notice it.
