Health & Fitness Corona is in full swing and its not Joke !

yep being a Maharastrain, my blood boils when this bastard even take his name. this is really sad that such looser have the power. that money could have been invested into so many other good places like R&D in health, space or anything else...
Those who are old enough probably remember, what Rajiv Gandhi said about corruption in India. He was the PM then. Only 15 paise per rupee goes for actual work and the rest is corruption. The nation was shocked with that candid admission of corruption at that time. Rajiv was not taking about Corruption of his govt but corruption of the whole country. Today I think while we do not see any corruption cases as the whole TV media (with rare exceptions) is managed by the powerful 100% of the money is going towards useless expenditure.

@skoka123 Govt. gave ~inr3000Cr. to SII. So, they are setting up a ukp230mn vaccine manufacturing plant in UK.

Dude went to UK saying he was afraid of netas threaten begging him for vaccines, but announced vaccine manufacturing plant in UK and wanted to come back immediately.

Lot of macro level politics going behind this pandemic.

That is problem with facts. You need to get them right. Did you not learn it from AS. Pehle Chronology samjho!

Govt should have invested mid last year. Govt gave SII the money now.

The government announced 3,000 Cr after SII had been asking for it. The 3,000 cr is not for new plant. It is for repurposing existing production lines and possibly some new capacity. The govt sat on it until it was too late. Had the govt spent 20K on Vaccines (Capacity + foreign order + funding research) last year we would not have been in this state. This is exactly what US and UK did. What did our govt do? Donate 60 million doses on image building of one dictator instead of stocking up for ourselves and help procure more.

BTW, of the 3,000 Cr only 1700 Cr have been given to SII as of new reports from 3 days ago. As far investment in UK, what is wrong with it? SII is company with 10 Billion Dollar valuation. They, like any other company, would like to expand wherever they see potential. What you need to understand is that it is not the 3K cr that is being invested in UK. It is not like SII does not have 3K Cr to expand and divert their production towards CoviShield. The question is Why should a for profit private company incur the additional cost when govt is fixing the price? 3K Cr is for viability gap funding. Meaning, that is the loss SII would incur if they were to repurpose all their production lines to CoviShield.

sabse pehle medical college se corruption hatao and seats bandhao ,with some paltry seat numbers every year India doesn't meet the number of doctors and specialists that ir requires . I see good set of students lose out due to the management quota (which in turn leeds to more corruption when they start practice to recoup the money) it is not necessary that a high scoring student will turn out to be good medical practitioner .The contribution of nurses from Kerala is immense at least in Mumbai and i think in middle east as well .Good world class nursing colleges too would be beneficial.

kinke colleges he ye ;) 90 % colleges and schools are owned by some politician or someone in relation. kaise hatega ye.
yesterday shared this video which was posted yesterday and this makes so much sense but govt. chu he and politicians courrpt. The video also share solutions shared by one of india's bigshot DOC.

@skoka123 Our top politicians and lala chamchas those give them lunatic ideas definitely are primary problem.

Not blaming SII, many macro economical or geopolitical factors may be beyond their control.

Even then, have some concerns about SII with second para of your own comment, looks self contradictory.

guys, I'm having slight fever(37.4 ~ 37.6), cold and cough. No issues with smell and tastes... could it be a Corona? taking dolo 650 for now.

all home collection test labs does not have any time slots for next three days here.

Any suggestions? is any other medicines should I be taking?
After almost 14 days of fever, vomiting.. :( now recovered. But still back pain is there.. hopefully it should be fine in a week.

I feel that even after 14-20 days when we have sort of recovered, it may take another 1-2 months to get back to prime shape as not everything feels great in body. I suggest not to exert a lot for now and take things slowly.

IndiaSpend: We Are Pressured To Prescribe Drugs That Dont Work.

Interesting article and in lines with what some people like @red dragon and @alekhkhanna have been saying in this thread. Only oxygen and steroids work in case of a severe infection. Running after Remdesivir or other drugs being balck-marketed doesn't really help. I know no one can follow logic in those scenarios and even I would probably try and get those drugs administered to my patient, if I were in their shoes.

Let me just leave this here. ICMR now discouraging/not recommending RT-PCR due to lack of stock.
It was never recommended. Most "recoveries" that you see officially are those who are released after 10/14 days of quarantine (sometimes even 3 days of no fever).
They aren't the real recoveries. They, in fact, do have the potential to infect others if no RTPCR was done (we have seen sporadic cases of moderate COVID with RTPCR positive even after 15 days?

During the last year's mega wave, I hardly got news of people around me being COVID positive. This year however was a complete 180 turn, been notified an alarming rate of people I know being COVID positive, just today got news an ex-coworker's father has been tested positive.

It's a pretty shitty situation, wishing well to you and your loved ones. Stay safe.

What about the vaccines themselves? Have you guys been vaccinated? What particular vaccine do they give you? Are they all effective? The govt here says one cannot choose the vaccine he/she wants. And they must be administered what the govt order says. This naturally created a panic among the people here. Even my mom is hesitating now. Tbh I stopped following this news long ago and didn't even want to look into it after our Union Health Minister endorsed ramdev's drug. Sign facepalm. How are we expected to trust the govt when one of their own Union Health Minister of all people promotes "ayurvedic" drug without any research?
The worst part is the fact that different tests are showing different results (don't ask me how it happened because I don't know and no you cannot look into it or you'll get thrown inside the jail). This is the main thing which shocked everyone and made them hesitant now.

So then they should have never been released but are released? Wow.

My father got vaccinated with Covaxin, he was hesistant but went through with it. They had finally released the effeciency and trial results for the Covaxin sometime after his first dosage. During his second/last dosage he found that the Covaxin is no longer available anywhere except his booth. The only vaccine we are eligible for currently is Covishield at our area and I refuse to administer it into my body. Can anyone let me know if it's safe or effective as Covaxin?

I cant comment on which is more effective but both are safe. In fact, I know some who don't trust the Indian Covaxin and prefer Covishield--Oxford, AstraZeneca--which has been taken by millions across the globe, so nothing to worry.
