Shipping costs for various items

I have ordered two pickups via Shiprocket. App gives me an option to download a Shipping Label and a Manifest. Label obviously has to be pasted on the box. What is the use for manifest?

Also, I had clicked on Schedule Pickup now but it doesn't tell me when the pickup guy is supposed to come. Any idea how that works?
As said manifest is acknowledgement slip
Pickup guy will come anytime, they may contact you for availability and location confirmation.

How is Shiprocket in terms of service, they reliable?
I will say it depends on the pickup service of courier you choose while shipping.
Shiprocket is just the middleman which provides great pricing for shipping from these couriers which otherwise charges 2-5 times more if you go to them directly.

Last shipment i did was of Rs600 shipping cost (shipping cabinet) and delhivery delivered it to bhopal in 75 hours after pickup from delhi in middle of lockdown. while they didn't came to pickup Rs60-70 package for 12 days when all was unlocked.
So if you have something that is costing a bomb to deliver then try shiprocket, gst number isn't mandatory.

How come GST number isn't mandatory while using any of these shipping services? Can't these services be then used to commit GST fraud?

Recently shipped 2 packages (5kg and 2kg) via Delhivery/Shiprocket in just ₹200 since I availed ₹200 flat cashback. Picked up on 2nd and delivered on 5th for a 650km trip. Highly satisfied.

Almost all my PC components I have bought in past month have been shipped via Delhivery too and it has to be the best courier service in India rn. Only one component i.e. PSU was shipped via Fedex which was extremely slow to ship and their shipping route was stupid af.

Shiprocket is very vigilant with customer feedback too. Item couldn't get picked up for 2 days since we weren't at home and SR's rep called twice to confirm why the item wasn't getting picked up. But as all good things come to end.. lets hope this one continues for a bit longer.

Can you tell me more about the costs and place of origin and destination again? Did you shipped two packages for a total of only 200rs?

Origin, Destination - PM for details

Yeah, there was an offer of ₹200 flat cashback. So I added ₹200 and got another ₹200, hence total ₹400.

5kg package shipping was for ₹238 and
2kg package was for ₹155. Total item value was around 50k - all PC components.

Do take pics of packages before shipping . 4 pics must. 3 pics with a scale to prove length breadth and height, 4th pic with Shipping label.
The courier have habit of claiming weight discrepancies later on.

@xkcd0137 Your build is done? Pics!
Almost. :D its just missing a cabinet. :disrelieved: I can share pics without it, lol.

I had ordered a Lian Li 215 but Amazon cancelled due to lockdown. I got some parts ordered to my relative's address and then shipped them to my place, but couldn't do the same for cabinet obviously.

Also, I am bit undecided now since 215's price has increased from ₹5500 to ₹7k.

If you are ok with spending about 7-8k look at Lancool 2 Mesh or Corsair 4000d instead of 215 at that price. I know PC Studio but can't say how carefully they'll ship, especially during lockdown. (I think it'll be lifted in a week or so in Blore).

I have overspent on B550 and a Gen4 ssd so thinking of sth within 5k. Maybe will go for some used deal or sth then. Have some time to decide till shipping normalizes.

Do you need a weight scale for ship rocket? or does the guy do it for you? No idea how it works
you need to do it yourself while booking for the pickup, measure it and weight it correctly then shiprocket will show available courier option and rates based on measurements.

Nice. How did you pack everything?
@rsaeon how does shiprocket work? I want to buy something and seller wasn't willing to ship first and payment later but he said I can arrange for shiprocket if I want. What exactly do I need to do? I prefer Speedpost but since he didn't want to ship first we could agree on it.
Or can you do it for me and I can send payment to you?
Anybody knows if ship rocket provides transit insurance and packaging options? Or any other reliable courier that does it?
@rsaeon likes to use shiprocket. He might know.
