User Guides Watch JioTV on any device with Kodi!

I know some people already might know this, but this video is for those who want to play live TV on their Computer, Android TV, Mi Stick, Firestick or any other android box. As long as your device supports Widevine DRM protection, you can install JioTV as an Addon in Kodi and watch live tv on your device. Here is a tutorial.

Pardon my ignorance, but what if this also gets taken down/kodi decides to stop this if there's communication from Jio.
Also how to know if my device supports widevine DRM support?

Crude way of knowing Widevine support is to check if the device you are trying to install it on can run netflix in form of an app or through browser. If it does, the device has Widevine DRM

The risk is always there. But I doubt anything will happen because I have been watching JioTV on firestick since 2019 with apk 5.8.3. It still works although the latest JioTV apk on playstore is version 6.0.9. JioTV is just an app that shows media streams. That is why the developer has removed the web wrapper and made it in a way that Kodi can understand. Any why would JioTV have objection? It is not like we can watch JioTV without login. The developer has just changed the interface. You still need to be subscribed to Jio services.

My apprehensions were that T-tv also showed Jio content which was legal imo(sign in), just streaming on TV which anyways we would watch on mobile.
Yes, I agree that streaming of other TV shows was illegal and hence T-tv was taken down, the news article I read mentioned that Star network objected to its serials being broadcasted. I mean if Jiotv already has star channels subscribed then why the objection on it being broadcasted on T-tv through Jiotv? Objections from MX, Netflix was understandable.

Anyways, it was way too complicated and lot of confusion. If it works then good.

HD channels won't look as good as they would look with a HD cable connection because they are 540p
You mean JioTV limits it to 540p and still passes those channels off as HD or its a limitation specific to this hack ? I was so happy to have learnt about this and was looking to set it up for my parents but this would be disappointing.
Any why would JioTV have objection
I suppose its due to how its being used. Mobiles and tablets are fine but TV ... I even tried casting and that doesn't work.

@ibose It is NOT Jio which is doing this, it is the app / addon I think. I watch Jio FULL HD channels in tivimate IPTV app using a playlist and it is full hd (at least as per tivimate).

I did this on a Win10 PC. The channels are working when you select them Add On - Joi TV - Genre/languages - Channel, But TV menu and Guide section on Kodi remains empty.

I don't think so. Even in the JioTV app, HD channels don't look clear. So it is not just the addon. I tried tivimate app with a playlist that I found. In the limited testing that I did, the channels looked good on my phone, but I think it is due to pixel density rather than channels being played in HD. Anyway, will have to do more digging.
