Storage Solutions Need help getting a SSD fixed

Hi all,
Recently my 4TB NVME SSD stopped working.
The data is not important but the drive is.
Warranty no, help yes.
Any one can suggest a repair shop.

Thanks

Oh! these are costly drives.
SATA can be repaired with changing connectors etc. but chances are less for a NVME.
I don't think anyone can repair this nvme drive, manufacturers also provide replacement only.
What exactly is the issue ?.
If it doesn't detects, then you can try eraser to clean pin contacts as we do with ram or GPU.

Hi my out of warranty Crucial SSD MX300 does not work. Can you point me in the right direction regarding getting it to work again?

you can try some basic troubleshooting like changing sata port and sata cable,
changing sata power cable etc, can take it to nearest computer shop to troubleshoot further.

In this case it's over now, I don't think there's any option and I am sure you've already tried cleaning pin contacts using eraser.
Yes, cleaning with alcohal did'nt help either. I even tried blowing like it was the cartrage of a NES. Nothing
Need an expert's opinion.

I'm not an expert but what you need to do is observe it under a thermal camera when it's plugged in and see what's getting hot. If it's a short then maybe it's some bad capacitor which can be replaced by shops who do micro-soldering, otherwise it could be a bad controller as well in that case it's damn hard to find a replacement.

if its not working than just bake in oven (heat it) .look if things get re-soldered . if you are good with multimeter or know who is good at it than try to find a short (try to know what component has gone bad ) .if electrically if its fine than it could be corrupt firmware

Using eraser to clean the pins can be dangerous to the gold plating on this devices.
You can try alka propyl alcohol instead, which does better work without any damage to pins.

There is a person in mahu.MP.who repairs electronic triggers parts of pistols and rifles.these were also said to be non repairable by manufacturers.shooter used to change them with new circuits and are very expensive.these have same logic circuit like nvme.give it a shot who knows.he is only your last hope.will send you his contact on what's app

Nah, no issues I tried it gently once on my WD black these pin contacts aren't flimsy but yes I agree it's better to use Isopropyl alcohol.

Erasers can only clean dirt ,if any. As they are good plated, oxidation is not an issue. So alcohol is just as effective
