AMD can't really change their release cadence in the short term. Both from consumer expectations perspective, and the way their teams are divided among people working on next gen vs current gen.

And while greed is everywhere, DDR5 money is not even going to AMD's pockets, so this part is not exactly greed. If you are saying Hynix bribed AMD, I don't see much evidence, it looks like a conspiracy theory.

And if you would notice, AMD with it's new line actually increased it's TDP coming close to Intel's 12gen.
Intel on the other hand is talking about efficiency with its 13th gen. :)

Seems like AMD is doing what Intel used to do. Increase TDP and Intel has been struggling all these years in controlling the TDP.

Hmmm. I feel like the increase in TDP is just to provide more headroom for OC. 7950X @65W Eco Mode should beat a 12900K @Stock in theory

I see it but can't put my finger on it. 16 cores of AMD against 12 power cores of Intel. In productivity 12900k never stood a chance against the 5950x. And why is it price at $800 ?

12C 7900X @65W against the 8p8e 12900K. 7950X is priced at 700$* because it's a 16 core cpu

Offline prices in SP Road Bangalore are a lot less. 46k if you buy the entire system. I was quoted the same, they were expecting that the prices might come down once the 13th gen prices stabilize.

IMO i5 13600K might be the new mid-range champion or 5800X3D for gamers. Both have the advantage of cost in terms of mobo & RAM as well. The i3 13600K will likely outperform 7700X in productivity performance.

Anyways, let's see. For budget segment, R7 5700X is apparently $200 in US, not a bad strategy from AMD if they bring its price close to i5 13400.
