AM5 and Ryzen 7000 News

Am4 has much juice left in it, am5 is for folks who are still on ryzen 1 or 2nd gen .
Still rocking 2700X just fine. Anyone who already has AM4 should keep it and if an upgrade is needed then AM4 has a very wide upgrade path.

AM5 is for people who have the money to afford the platform, period. Even if building a new PC right now Intel 12th/13th with DDR4 or AMD's AM4 is the way to go for mainstream.

Feel bad for AMD. When they had absolute screamer of a processor line up, Covid came and they had very limited supply of chips to OEMs. When they moved to new architecture, recession/inflation is looming and everyone is saving for the rainy day.

Appears to be massive nearly 30% price cuts for the 7950X and down the line in China for the Nov 11th singles day shopping sale similar to black friday. Hope it soon propagates elsewhere too.
Saw it here...

New AMD Ryzen and Intel 13 gen are both neck to neck in price. There is no budget oriented products at all. And thats the reason that their sale is not looking so good at the moment. There was a time when we would have got a mid range motherboard in the 7-10k range. Now even the basic motherboard Costs a lot more. 10k is the new entry level Mobo.

It's a similar case with processor too.

So any bare bone decent upgrade will definitely cost close to 50k and even then you are not getting the high end. You are getting a little better that entry level upgrade. So most people are hesitant for the upgrade.
